Keemun has a wonderful fresh fruits aroma and a gentle taste with hints of sweet orchid flowers and softly smoking cinders. It is a black tea that is naturally low in caffeine so this superb tea can be enjoyed deep into the evening.
The name “Keemun” comes from the colonial English spelling for “Qimen”, the County in the An Hui province of China from where this tea comes. The An Hui province is famous for its Green teas. During the late Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) techniques for producing black tea were brought from the southern Fujian province. Due to its wonderfully balanced flavour, Keemun has now become one of the most desired China black teas.
