From American Tea Room

A sweet organic symphony of green and white tea blended with dragon fruit and pomegranate arils. This incredible blend is light fruity with just a hint of tartness with a layered light green tea taste. Bliss is sure to delight and is aptly named – it is great both hot and iced – and for a special iced tea treat add tropical fruit such as mango, pineapple, or guava once iced.

Had this last night. A decent middle-of-the-road tea in terms of not being so special or uniquely delicious it requires full attention but having enough flavor to be better than totally unnoticeable supermarket staples, if that makes sense. It hit the spot as we relaxed post-trip on the couch together engrossed in TV (R finally managed to watch the BB finale). Fruity sweet-tart, but the green tea smooths it out and keeps it fresh, not too candy-like/artificial. Have a feeling it would be quite pleasant iced.

ATR sent me a sample of this with my last order. I like it. It’s sweet without being cloyingly so, and the tea flavor comes through. It’s a little tart, but barely noticeable unless I’m looking for it.

I think this would make a nice iced tea, but I’m enjoying this hot right now. I’m not sure I like this enough to buy more, but it’s very pleasant for a snowed in winter’s day.

Okay, seriously, you need to cold brew this bad boy. The tartness of the blend is so much more palatable, and it comes off as fruity instead of just plain sour. I find it to be less overtly floral than ATR’s Nirvana, so it’s my preferred blend of the two, even if it tends more toward bitterness when left to its own devices. Having eaten dragonfruit before, I can detect it in here. Dragonfruit is kind of like exotic kiwi, in that it doesn’t have much flavor on its own, but is very distinctly itself all the same. Not quite citrus, not quite sweet: it lends itself to the honeysuckle notes in this cup well enough. I’m not sure I found even a single pomegranate aril in my tea, though, which is sort of odd in retrospect. Then again, pomegranates aren’t cheap, and this blend is fairly inexpensive.

Thank you Kat Maria! (187)
I brewed it hot and I’m enjoying this fruity green/white, but it’s just a little bit of strawberries, and oddly, a little bit of butter, and comfort, and it’s nice and all that, but I don’t know that I’d take it home to meet my mother or anything like that.

Speaking of… mother’s day this weekend! :O I have little time to dig up some kind of gift and ensure she gets it in time. #failed I bought her tea before but I don’t know that she’s actually drinking it or would want any more. :| And we rarely speak. Ugh. We did take a mold of my 2yo at work, so maybe I can send her a copy of my daughter’s feet? It’ll be late but something like that might be cool.

Ok, back to work. Back to drinking tea!

ETA So all the new Summer teas are out, so I grabbed the Summer pack and mailed that to her (in BC, so it’ll be late). Even if she doesn’t drink a lot of tea, she DOES like iced tea, especial decaf ones! #patsselfonback I also sent her the bubble pineapple mugs bc they’re cute.

Thank you Kat_Maria for sharing. Unfortunately, I brewed this hot and it just tastes like a generic fruit green tea with a vegetal green base. I will try it cold brewed but this is not a promising start. I am starting to feel as though, with the exception of Brioche, I am not a lover of American Tea Room teas and that is okay because you can’t like them all.

Kat_Maria

Aww, sorry this didn’t work for you. It’s not particularly exceptional hot but I’ve had it cold brewed and it worked much better that way!

No worries. You sent me so many amazing teas that my wallet was getting worried :P. I am always happy to try all the teas though. And, I have a bottle cold brewing in the fridge right now.

Got this as a sample in my ATR order. Not bad, not spectacular. It smells delicious dry as the fruit hits you. To taste, it’s sweet and has a bit of tartness that doesn’t quite come through, which is fine for me because I’m not fond of tart teas. The fruit flavor doesn’t come across as strongly to taste as it did to smell. Not getting a lot of “tea” taste but rather sweet/fruity with a delicate ghost of a vegetal note.

Backlog from last night. I kind of got this one because I wanted to reach some free shipping treshold, I think, so it wasn’t something I would really normally pick. It’s a nice, refreshing tea with a mild base and tropical flavors. Pretty tasty, with just the right amount of sweetness to it.

Not particularly complex or interesting, it is great for just sipping when it’s later in the evening, while you’re busy with something that doesn’t let you savor your tea. I am also sure that it is great iced but since I don’t care about iced tea, it’s not an option for me.

I am glad to have it but I probably won’t be buying it again.
