From American Tea Room

Blueberry Rooibos is an organic, sweet-tart, antioxidant-rich, caffeine-free infusion. Its deep, cedar- and burgundy-colored leaves are peppered with blueberries, schizandra berries and hibiscus. The garnet-yam-colored brew has a tangy-sweet, berry-filled aroma and flavor, with abundant notes of blueberry and a gentle earthy undertone. The tartness of this rooibos blend makes it even better when it’s honey-sweetened and iced.

This tea is certified USDA organic.

Another prize from my LA tea spree.

I loved this shop when it had a French name, still the same owners, still the same tea. This was a sample to try in the store, and after one taste I had to get it. Fruity, like real blueberries, smell and taste so much like the fruit. Absolutely LOVE this! I had it iced at the store, and hot with my dinner when I got back to the house that night. SO good both ways! One of my faves and will be on the reorder list for sure!

Randy, one of the owners of American Tea Room, had excellent customer service skills and was just so so nice! He really took care of me and gave me fabulous ideas for teas I already had at home for making my own blends! I have all sorts of ideas running through my head now about blending my own tea! Randy made me more of a tea enthusiast than I already am! And it was so nice to talk to a tea person like I talk to techie people! :-)

I guess I’m just not meant for ATR rooibos teas. This one has a lovely blueberry scent, but there is just something odd to me about the base tea. To demonstrate how terrible I am with descriptions, it just tastes pointier to me that others I’ve had, and with an aftertaste similar to sugar’s, though not as bad. I love Capital’s rooibos teas and will just have to stick with them.

This one is lovely. So very very lovely.

I brewed up a mug of this after finally getting my latest package from ATR, no thanks to FedEx who employs a driver who doesn’t actually want to deliver packages, CS reps who will BS me lies in order to get me off the phone, and being told conflicting things by different FedEx folks about just when I can pick up my package from the FedEx store after the driver “attempted” (HA!) three times. (TL;DR: FedEx SUCKS.)

Anyway, blueberry rooibos. So yummy. It smells exactly like blueberries, and was delicious. I added some sugar to bring the flavor out. A very nice tea to unwind at night with while watching the latest episode of Arrow.

This is one of those teas where I enjoyed the scent more than the actual flavor. It smelled like a nice juicy blueberry, but the flavor was tart and slightly medicinal. I decided it wasn’t what I was in the mood for at the time, so I added a little bit of sugar and stuck it in the fridge for later. I found it much more enjoyable the second time around, the german rock sugar I added really helped draw out the blueberry flavor. This is definitely one of those teas I prefer cold over hot.
