Since this is the brand served by the school coffee shop, I’ve been drinking this for the past two days. Yesterday I mixed it with a white tea, but today I had it solo on ice. It’s a very nice tea; the flavor is light, but somehow crisp, and drinking it as an iced tea only makes that flavor more distinct. It has a very refreshing taste, and gives me the perk-up I need on these stressful school days.

Strange VariaTEA TTB #36

I pulled a bag of this out of the TTB to sample later and finally got around to it at work this week. I don’t have a temperature-controlled kettle at the office, so the water may have been too hot (though I did let it cool for at least 20 minutes after boiling). Not sure I would have loved this even if I’d brewed it with more care, though. It didn’t have much of a scent and the flavor was also fairly nondescript…a little grassy, a little fruity, but nothing that specifically screams “pomegranate”. Drinkable but forgettable!

Strange VariaTEA TTB – Tea #5

Thought I would give this one a try, because a fruity green sounded good.

It’s decent. The base is fairly grassy but I don’t mind that. The flavoring is a bit nondescript to me, I think I could probably pull out cranberry perhaps, but otherwise it just tastes somewhere between berry and red fruits. And there is a bit of that chalkiness that I often get from berry flavoring, unfortunately.

Still a pleasant cuppa to sip on while watching tea videos, but I think I’ll leave the rest of it in the box.

Sipdown (613)!

Two tea bags, cold brewed overnight then mixed with chia this morning for a morning cold brew with some extra protein. This wasn’t actually bad; I have a gut feeling that cold brewing probably produced a better and smoother flavour than this tea would have ever been capable of as a hot tea. It reminded me a lot of DT’s Green Seduction blend; same sort of sweet pomegranate note with a bit more of a grassy, sharper green edge to it. Worked very well with the chia though and was quite refreshing.

Not the best pomegranate green I’ve had, but it holds up in the middle of the pack.
