Gemini - duplicate

I’m a Gemini, and I like this tea. On my little tea journey, I’ve learned three things: green-black or green-white blends are often better than their parts alone, I prefer teas with gentle hints of flavor, and that clumsy people like myself should avoid black teas (you know, boiling water and all).

Given all of that, this does seem like the perfect tea for me. And the balance of green and white is just right, which I can appreciate. It tastes very slightly vegetal, but with a fog cloud of peach that sneaks up and over it. Really delicious. My only criticism is that the peach is a bit strong for me. But I’m ridiculous and prefer my flavored teaz in the form of tea with natural notes of peach, rather than a peach flavored tea. Reading the reviews, a lot of people were disappointed this wasn’t peachy enough, so I think I’m just very sensitive to flavoring. Also, white peach tea is listed as the third component in the blend, so it’s not even like there’s a lot in there. Anyway, I don’t think I’ll have any trouble at all drinking this one up. :)

Edit: Lies, lies, lies! Second steep was infinitely better…no wonky flavor clashing, no overbearing flavors, just a nice, light peachiness and tasty green and white tea. Uprating.

Adagio’s White Peach was #2 favorite from that company, after their WONDERFUL Blueberry black tea. However, I think it’s been bumped down by the Gemini blend. Mixing in White Monkey and White Peony tones the fruitiness down without weakening the flavor…does that make sense? It becomes more subtle and sophisticated, i think, instead of screaming “I am a peachy piece of peachiness!” to your tongue.

I don’t usually pay much attention to astrological signs, but this tea blend suits me so wonderfully (yes, I am a Gemini) that I might have to start reading horoscopes every morning :-p

Finishing up my tin of this, I think I got another cup left. I do enjoy this tea. It has a sweet aftertaste and the subtle taste of a green tea overall, not to mention it smells delicious. I’m honestly not sure how long I steeped my first time.. and this resulted in a slightly bitter cup. Either way, I do enjoy teas that are a bit sweet. Anyone know of any other sweet teas?

The first Adagio order anyone makes comes with a free tin of your Zodiac sign blend tea. This tea has no description or preparation directions. For this reason, I waited to be a little more experienced in averaging times based on visual of the tea. The leaves are very fragrant, long and pale green, this is a green and white tea blend. There is something very sweet in here, from previous teas, I believe it is the white peony that I am smelling.

When brewed, I am smelling the tea, very aromatic, sweet and floral. The tea has a slight peachy flavor which is muted with the plain subtlety from the White peony. There is a slight vegetal aftertaste, which is the green tea peaking through.

Overall, pretty good. I will definitely buy this when it runs out.

Technically I’m not a Gemini—my husband ordered tea for me and used his birth date instead of mine and I’m really glad he did. This turned out to be one the best flavored green/white teas I’ve had, and I’m kind of picky about flavored teas. Peach complements green tea well. I steeped every bit of the tiny tin for as many times as it took to suck all of the flavor out of the leaves and this tea has made it on my wish list for when I eventually clean out my tea stash.

First cup of this tea. Pretty tasty, and a nice white….But why the hell did I think it was a good idea to try this for the first time when I was waking up? This is totally a mid-morning tea. I need something stronger, pungent, a$$-kicking to wake me up in the morning. Chais and mates are great for doing that…A fruity white doesn’t cut it. Good tea, though. I will review this baby when I’ve got a mid-morning tea-craving to sate.

So I got this in the mail the other day. My first review/taste of this tea….so ahh here goes. It is a great blend of both green and white teas, which I love. The brew is light and sweet with a hint of peach flavor…so nice.

p.s. Be careful not to steep too long or at a high temp….or else it will be dry and bitter.

I couldn’t remember if I had reviewed this, and when I saw I did, i reread my tasting note. It basically boils down to “I lost it, I found it, I drank it, it was too mild for my liking.”

Well, surprise surprise, that is almost exactly what happened a second time. I did lose it again, and I did re-discover it, and of course I tried it again. However, maybe it’s the refining of my palate in the past year but despite brewing this the exact same way as last time, and the tea being a year older, I like it much more. It’s still a very mild tea, but I appreciate it far greater than before. The same profile is present. Vegetal, fruity, a touch floral, lingering sweetness. However, it’s no longer “too weak” for me. Instead, I find myself enjoying the subtleties of it. The flavors blend pretty nicely and for a good-night cuppa before bed, it hits the spot.

So upping my rating on this. I really think a year ago, when I started my tea journey, I simply couldn’t appreciate a tea that didn’t smash you in the face with flavor. I still tend to go for those face smashers, but I have much more range these days.

I bought this after receiving a sample of it that I enjoyed. It’s a nice light, summery white tea; the peach/apricot flavor is strong but not overpowering, offsetting the slight bitterness of the tea without masking it entirely. It’s great iced as well.

It appears that Adagio may have changed its recipe for the Zodiac series Gemini blend, as my tin (purchased a few months ago) does not list green tea among the ingredients. At this point in history (2014), Gemini is a fruit-essence-infused white tea blend. The fruits in question are apricot, peach, and apples, but I taste mainly apricot. The tea also brews up an apricot-color which is lovely to behold.

Following my post-ultramarathon move plan, during which I am attempting to recuperate from an extraordinarily grueling two months, I prepared a large tetsubin of this tea using a very generous-sized infusion basket. One nice thing about using a tetsubin is that on a cold day like today (my new landlord appears already to have turned off the heat in anticipation of summer, though the temperature dipped down to 32F last night!), even just-boiled water is immediately cooled by ten or more degrees. Of course, the temperature is not as crucial for white as for green tea anyway, but it simplifies matters on the preparation front.

I like Gemini as a hot fruity tea with more fruity than tea taste and aroma. I generally find that white tea becomes the tofu of teas when combined with other elements, since its flavor is far more delicate than just about anything else. The fruit does taste natural and not overwhelmingly strong, as is often the case with artificially flavored blends.
