From Adagio Teas

Ginger peach tea has become an American classic. Our version has the soft warmth of ginger with the sweet depth of summer ripe peaches and apricots in a fine Ceylon black tea. Enjoyable anytime of year as a hot tea, we find it to be particularly refreshing iced.

More ginger forward than peach. Definitely powdered ginger flavor versus fresh ginger. I am going to try blending with White Peach to boost the peach flavor. As is, I think it’s better for nursing a cold or congestion than a casual sipping tea.

Overboard #8

I’m trying desperately hard to sample through the still quite large pile of teas I selected out of this TTB by the end of the week for two reasons (1) I go home to Oz very shortly to visit family (my first trip home in 3 years!!) and (2) I’ve had the TTB almost two weeks now and it’s really time to pass it along!!

This is one I wasn’t really sure I would like all that much, it smells super gingery in the packet but I wanted to give it a try because generally I’m a ginger fan (in small doses) and I’m really glad I decided to steep it up because the scent was a ‘red herring’ and the tea actually had the perfect balance of ginger and fruit for my taste buds! Brewed it tastes like fruity ginger beer which is alright by me! I’ll be adding this to my next Adagio order!

Thank you to Kyla for sharing a generous sample of this tea! I LOVE Republic of Tea’s Ginger Peach black tea, so I was eager to see how Adagio’s version compared. Unfortunately, I didn’t love this one. I could barely taste the peach…just a vague fruity flavor coupled with LOTS of ginger.

I was surprised I enjoyed this – I typically hate ginger. But luckily, this is truly peach tea with a bit of ginger. If you want something with strong ginger taste, this won’t be the one for you. But for me, it was very tasty iced.

As a hot tea, I’ve never been able to brew this just right. I originally got this when I came down with the cold to soothe my throat with some honey, but . . . it just wasn’t good. The first time I tried it I made it way too weak, then once I used a tea bag for the regular 8oz it was WAY too overpowering. Bitterly so.
But iced? OOOOH BOY is this tea wonderful iced. The peach comes out very nicely, and while the ginger is present, it’s not so pronounced that it’s a turn off.

Very subtle ginger and peach flavor. Would like a stronger flavor.

A very spicy, peppery ginger, slighly mellowed by its fruity notes. I added one cube of sugar, hoping to bring out the sweetness of the peach and apricot a bit more.
