Sipdown! 201/365!

This may actually be my first actual sipdown of a full AQTT packet, aside from teas I’ve repurchased (Eggnog Pound Cake and Peach Crostata). How do I know this? Well, I’ve now inventoried all of my teas from this company! Hurrah! And I’m only missing a couple from all of what I’ve purchased – some I think I gave to my mom, others I believe are at my MIL’s, and there is only one that is totally MIA.

Anyhow, glad I had enough of this left for a note, since I haven’t reviewed it before. It was quite tasty – creamy, sweet coconut on a rich, malty black base. Pretty much what you’d hope for out of a coconut black tea. Really can’t say much more about it – wish I had some left, but at least I finished it before it went off!

Sipdown (310)

The coconut is so strong and delicious in this one today. Honestly, I get coconut filled pineapple buns when I am at work downtown and this tea is capturing that flavor perfectly. So I guess in a way it is capturing a coconut cream puff but the coconut “cream” is not so much a custard-y type cream but rather a pureed coconut filling that is creamy and the “puff” is not choux pastry but a pineapple bun. It’s buttery and delicious and this is an excellent way to say goodbye that is really taking me back to the tasty snacks hiding in the Toronto Path.

Speaking of work, they pushed my start date back a month. That sucks but I guess that means I have a month and a half off after exams to relax and do what I want. Hopefully it doesn’t get pushed back more though since I’d like to earn some money this year plus I think endless freedom might drive me a bit nuts.

It is creamy, it is coconutty, and they are served in cute little puffs or balls of tea, of which I used three for this steeping. There are other ingredients that sifted down to the bottom of the bag and were hard to retrieve. I think this is a black tea, but it seems to have a lighter flavor than I’d expect. It’s okay, but isn’t quite as dazzling and sparkly as I was hoping for.

Sad Sad Sipdown. I LOVE this tea. And it’s stood up well to being forgotten in my drawer for a while. Still delicious and coconutty and wonderful and I am so SAD that I am drinking the last of my stash of this discontinued tea.

Dustin

Good to know it holds up! I have a little lingering in my cupboard too.

Starfevre

Best drink it soon. Coconut certainly doesn’t last forever and it’s a year old at this point. Tea of the month for February 2018.

Starfevre

I’m so happy it stands up to a second steep though. Going to probably try for a third too.

Kittenna

Oooh, yeah, I loved this one too. I need to dig out all my coconut teas to salvage what I can! I think I only have a cup or two of this one left.

Sipdown (530)!

Iced Tea. Added coconut milk. Tea Press.

I finally figured out what this one reminds me of; Teaja’s Coconut Pu’erh! It has the same sort of highly buttery, almost sticky rice sort of flavour on top of the sweet, pastry like coconut notes. This iced version in particular was very buttery though and maybe leaned a little more towards that sticky rice side of things. I still enjoyed it, but I have to say this one is definitely better served hot. Iced it just reminded me a little too much of rice milk.

Starfevre

I have some of this! And good to know because it’s at work and I don’t exactly have the makings for iced tea at work anyway.

Another one from VariaTEA (you can pretty much assume that anything i drink these days is from her unless it’s a straight black). This one is distinctly AQ2T. It’s got that flavour that i associate with the company. Is this coconut? yes! I get the vibe of pastries from this as well, though i’m not certain that i’d call this a coconut cream puff. It is tasty though – so no complaints there. :)
