Thank you to Shae for this sample! It’s lots of things I love in a tea- popped rice, smokiness, and strawberry. The strawberry was non-existent, and the smoke and toasted rice flavor were pretty predominant. Very happy to have been able to try it, but not something I would gravitate back towards,
This tea was stellar! Absolutely perfect amount of smokiness – just enough to give that characteristic flavour, and the marshmallowy sweetness of the strawberry paired perfectly with it. I resteeped this one twice, and each resteep was also delicious. I don’t usually like black/green blends, but I treated this like a straight genmaicha and it was perfect.
Highly recommend this one for flavoured genmaicha lovers and those interested in trying out smoky teas.

I’m sure this one must have been an older sample. And I learned not long ago that green teas just don’t keep (much like my coconut revelation, had no idea about that one either). I’m so sorry! It was probably good once upon a time.
