From A Quarter to Tea

Atholl Brose Black Tea:
Tea of the Week 3/7-3/13

Atholl Brose is a Scottish drink obtained by mixing oatmeal brose, honey, whisky, and sometimes cream.

Now it’s in tea form!

Ceylon tea is paired with honeysuckle, oatmeal, and a touch of dandelion root for a touch of earthy whisky quality.

Tasty hot and cold.

This tea is limited run, so once it is gone, it’s gone for the season. It is sold only in 0.5oz quantities.

All orders come in resealable packaging and include a reusable muslin cotton tea bag.

Ingredients:

Ceylon Tea, honeysuckle, old-fashioned cut oatmeal, dandelion root, calendula petals, natural flavors

Brew and Size Instructions:

Use 1-2 teaspoons for a 6 oz cup
Steep for 3-5 minutes in water at 200F

Malty Ceylon black , oats, honey, slightly nutty. It tastes faintly of almonds, caramel, marshmallow root, and milk. I made this as an almond milk latte and it was superb. Sweet, malty, slightly Earthy, a bit of thick creaminess to compliment the base.

Sipdown. I wanted to wait until I had milk since it needed it last time. But I didn’t end up using any.
It’s retained flavoring really well as this is old. Whiskey, honey, creamy.
200F, 2min – no milk, it’s pretty underleafed – not enough left.
This might be the best this tea has ever tasted. Maybe the age smoothed out the astringency I was getting from the Ceylon? I don’t know. I really enjoyed this cup of tea, but it won’t be a repurchase.
