Tea of the Week for December 6, 2021!

YUM! This is so tasty!

Our organic Chinese Sencha is light & sweet with a hint of buttery creaminess to it & it makes the perfect base for the custard-like eggnog notes. The cranberries add a bright note to the cup & the rich, bittersweet hints of nutmeg mingle throughout the sip. A delightful holiday cuppa that is organic, vegan, gluten-free, allergen-free & all natural!

organic ingredients: green tea, cranberries, nutmeg, calendula petals & natural flavors

to brew: shake the pouch to redistribute the ingredients (the shavings of nutmeg are small & may have settled to the bottom of the pouch!) use 2 ½ grams of leaf & fruit to 12oz of very hot water (175°F) & steep for 2 ½ minutes. Strain & allow to cool for 5 minutes. Enjoy!

serving suggestion: No sweetener needed for this cup. It’s quite tasty without any additions. When I add about ½ a teaspoon of sugar to the cup, I find this enhances the overall sweetness of the eggnog – so, if you are one who is looking for a sweeter cup, go for it. I have tried this as a latte & I enjoyed it with a little extra eggnog dusted on top. Be sure to add some extra leaf to your measurement if you’re going latte with this!

I wish I could taste more eggnog, but I am enjoying this one. The green tea is really light and refreshing. There’s the mildest touch of a flavoring that’s sort of reminiscent of eggnog. The cranberry shows up as a bright fruitiness. I wanted this one to be more special, but I definitely like it

I still feel like my tastebuds aren’t quite working properly. This is another tea where I really couldn’t pick up the flavours; I did oversteep (thanks to my needy children) but not enough to be unpleasant, but maybe it disguised some of the flavours? It was pleasant, however.

As I sip this – there is one pouch of it left. The subscriptions have already been shipped out & most people should receive their boxes tomorrow (according to tracking information) – so I hope I’ll be seeing more reviews of this tea.

I am in love with this blend. The sweet, custard-y, creaminess of the eggnog notes with the tart cranberry & the hint of bittersweet notes from the nutmeg are so delightful. The Chinese Sencha works well with this blend. It’s a very harmonious, flavorful cuppa.
