A Very Important Tea (VIT) !!!

A bit of a confession: this tea was actually intended for a January release to go along with our Candy Shop Theme but as I have been so behind since my hospitalization in November, I wasn’t able to get this tea started until the beginning of this month. (I am – slowly but surely – getting caught up!) But even though I have been so behind and I didn’t get this tea blended until two full months after I intended to, this was a tea that I knew I HAD to blend because I was so looking forward to tasting it!

Anyway, this goes along with my “Candy Shop” theme because it was inspired by my favorite lollipop flavor from Lollies by Leah – Ice & Cream Lollies! Even though Lollies by Leah certainly aren’t “retro” or “old fashioned” – they remind me a lot of old fashioned candies because Leah uses simple ingredients to create her teas – just like you’d expect from an old-fashioned candy maker. She doesn’t use a lot of unnecessary additives to the candies – and the flavors come out tasting like those yummy candies I remember from childhood.

This lollipop was first introduced some time last year, when Leah had a “ice cream” themed box. Of course, I absolutely loved all the lollies from the box, but the Ice & Cream was something special! It tasted like … well, imagine having a double dip dish of ice cream: one scoop of strawberry ice cream and one scoop of lemon sherbet – and scraping your spoon across the top of both scoops, gathering a little bit of each flavor onto the spoon – and then letting both flavors melt on your tongue at the same time. Oh, yeah – seriously yummy!

And those are the flavors that I managed to capture in this tea! I started with our special Bu Lang Black Tea and added freeze-dried strawberries, some dried lemon wedges and a bit of vanilla extract. And what can I say? This tea tastes a lot like if I had melted a couple of those lollipops in a cup of the smoothest black tea. And just like the lollipop that inspired it – this tea is SERIOUSLY YUMMY!

And of course, it’s also VEGAN, gluten free & allergen free!

ingredients: black tea, organic strawberries, organic lemons & organic natural flavors

Finished this one the other day. While I enjoyed it, it’s not my favourite 52 tea. I did like the light strawberry and pop of citrus. Glad I was able to have it, but won’t be longing for a restock.,.which in some ways is good because there are too many I love!

Another tea I was pretty excited about, as it sounds delicious. And, it’s pretty good, although the base didn’t make as much of an appearance as I expected/hoped. Primary flavours are light strawberry and lemon, but I got an absolutely delicious creaminess kind of late-sip once it was fairly cool. I am writing this note the next day, so I can’t remember everything about this tea, but it was certainly enjoyable.

Sil

sad i missed this one but glad it was a good one!

Sipdown the other day.

Writing about this in retrospect. It smelled so good, like Neopolitan Ice Cream. The main notes were a sweet-tart strawberry and cream. I did get a little of the citrus and sherbet notes. I had it as directed but didn’t try it iced. I also had it with a splash of milk a few times since I’ve had to do that if I drink tea in the mornings.

It was malty, creamy, pleasantly tart and sweet at the same time. I liked it. ^^

Flavors: Citrus, Citrusy, Cream, Malt, Strawberry, Tart

I was doing a little inventory last night – not a full inventory but more of like a mental one to get an idea of where I was – and there are only 2 more pouches of this one left.

This is my newest VIT (Very Important Tea) that I blended – I had originally planned on blending it in time for a January something release, because it goes along with the Candy Shop theme from January, but I was still so behind that I didn’t have time to do it.

I’m glad I did finally get this one blended though because it’s yummy. It’s inspired by one of my favorite lollipops from Lollies by Leah, a blend of strawberry ice cream and lemon sherbet flavors.

For this blend, I used Bu Lang black tea from the Yunnan province. The leaves are beautifully large and bulky and brewed without the strawberry and ice cream and lemon and sherbet flavors, it has a medium body, smooth, malty and fruity so I knew it would work well with these flavors.

My first couple of “taste test” cups were served hot and I loved them. Now I’m drinking it iced and I love it like that too. It’s a really wonderful blend.

Yum yum yum, I can’t wait for this one!

Ugh, this sounds so good. I love Leah’s lollypops so much. The collaboration you did with her last summer was how I found out about her. I signed up for the tea subscription to reduce my impulse 52 tea buys and now you’ve done this to me? I look forward to reading more reviews of this while I try not to sulk ;)

I do however have kilos of tea I need to drink and enjoy including a ton of 52teas so I can’t sulk too much.

Sil

omg that sounds divine

Evol Ving Ness

Yes, am desperately trying not to sulk as well. Or pout.
