From 52teas

It seems that maybe spring is finally actually here, which always puts me in mind of e.e. cummings’ “In Just-” and William Carlos Williams’ “This is Just to Say” and maybe just poetry in general and also of fruity refreshing iced teas. So be prepared, I have a few of those for you this month.

As for this blend, well, despite the silly name, it’s a refreshing blast of tropical fruits and sweet green tea. Chun Mee reportedly means “Precious Eyebrows” and is so named because of the shape of the leaves, hence our “Tropical Eyebrows” name.

I’m not sure if persimmon qualifies as a tropical fruit, but I felt the need to include it here, so I did along with mango, banana, kiwi, pineapple and coconut. I hope you enjoy this one as much as I do.

Since I just had a cup of H&S’s Caribe, I decided to compare and contrast it to another tropical tea in my stash, 52 Teas Tropical Eyebrows. They are both tropical, for sure, but have very different flavor profiles. Tropical Eyebrows has a green base, rather than a black and green mixture, and it has a smokier flavor. It is also much more tart; I like the taste, but my mouth puckers a bit with every sip. Interestingly, the teas have completely different tropical fruit inclusions, but they both give you the impression of a warm day on a beach. Any tea that has that power is ok by me.

Altogether, I enjoy Caribe more; it’s a smoother, less tart tropical blend. But it won’t be a burden to finish my pouch of Tropical Eyebrows, either.
