737 Tasting Notes
I honestly don’t know what my infatuation with Tulsi is all about. I just love it. I think the best part about it is how it makes me feel, far more than the taste itself. It truly is a miracle plant!
Of the three Organic India blends I’ve had, this one is my second favorite. I adore ginger teas, and the sharpness of the ginger and lemon balances beautifully with the mildness of the Tulsi.
And I feel wonderful after I drink it. It settles in my stomach and warms me up, and lifts my mood. (Which is good, because I have the weekend from hell coming.) Glad I have a respectable stash of this stuff at the ready!
The next one I want to try is the Cinnamon Rose kind.

Got a sample of this in my latest Butiki order!
I was very diligent about taking the tea ball infuser out of the water early, because I know that Assam can become astringent very quickly.
I can smell an earthy, woodsy, nutty scent mingling with the caramel and vanilla.
Sipping… It’s very smooth, with just the right bite of bitter from the Assam base. This is the first caramel tea I’ve tried that actually tastes like caramel. I think the Assam base works really well with the caramel, and the vanilla rounds the whole thing out quite nicely.
This is delicious, Stacy! Thanks so much for the sample.

This is not your average assam base. I strongly recommend you try it on its own, you can’t mess it up basically, the astringency is close to none even if you oversteep :-)
Thanks so much Stacy for this awesome sample! (And for the extra Caramel Vanilla Assam one too!) This is my first guayusa. I’m loving it so far! The vanilla is light and mellow and perfectly balanced. There’s a richness to this blend that I can detect just by smelling it.
Sipping… The mouth feel is nice and heavy and creamy! This is kind of like having vanilla cake. Oh, this is delicious! I’m hoping it will keep me alert for my three hour class today.
Will probably order this the next time I place an order with Butiki!
Flavors: Earth, Vanilla
Oh my gosh… this is so delicious! I picked up a box of this today because a friend recommended it to me forever ago, and I could never find a store that sold it! Until today. I ventured into an organic health food store and made a beeline for the tea section, and there it was.
The scent is delicate and intriguing. Very floral (as you would expect, of course), steeps a nice warm shade of brown, and the taste is heavenly! Tulsi is a very gentle herb by itself; mildly minty and earthy. But when coupled with aromatic and simply lovely rose, it’s a match made in heaven!
The two flavors form a very amenable and fragrant partnership, (neither one dominating the other- instead, they support and riff off of one another) and the rose flavor lingers on the tongue delightfully after each sip. There’s the perfect amount of sweetness, too (and this is coming from a person who favors using sweeteners lightly and sparingly!) and I can’t say enough about this blend.
I’m so glad I committed to the whole box! Will be buying again.Flavors: Flowers

I rather like this Earl Grey. The bergamot is nice and mellow. This one is almost as good as loose tea. (Even though it’s not.) The black tea base does exactly what it is supposed to do: provide a solid foundation for the bergamot without dominating the cup.
Perfect!
Oooo boy, do I love me some Zhena’s.
Delicious chai. Smooth black tea base, perfect amount of spice (it’s there, but it doesn’t make your eyes water) and some lovely coconut to round it all out. The round sachets are awesome, and they really allow for a nice infusion.
Delicious!
Ughhhh sore throat alert! I dug this one out of my tea chest to help ward off impending sickness. This is pretty much the ONLY fruity rooibos I actually like. I steeped this perfectly tonight, too. It tastes just like cranberry juice, without the ridiculous amounts of sugar. It steeps a beautiful deep red and it smells heavenly dry. A little bit goes a long way, and don’t exceed 2 minutes for steep time though, or it will be really really tart.
Mmmmmm! This is good. So earthy and revitalizing. I love mate and black tea, so this was blended with me in mind!
Confession Time: I cheated on tea this week with a pound of French Vanilla coffee that my friend gave me. And so I haven’t been drinking much tea. I’m considering the purchase of this box my penance.
Frankly, I think I’d rather drink this in the morning than coffee… One whiff of the smoky mate and the chocolatey black tea and I’m ready to go!
