1104 Tasting Notes
I steeped this tea thinking, “this is just going to be like every other peppermint tea I’ve ever had” which isn’t a bad thing because I’ve never had a bad cup of peppermint tea! Imagine my surprise when I took my first sip and exclained “yum!” I didn’t expect much from this box of tea that I bought on clearance at Winners/Homesense. I’d never heard of or seen this brand before so I had no idea how it was going to taste. This stuff is delicious! So smooth and bright and fresh! The best peppermint tea I’ve ever had! I could relax with a cup of this every single day and be quite content. I’ll keep my eyes peeled for more of this when I run out. Will happily inhale this and repurchase as soon as I can!

This was my morning cup and it was a nice one. I am partial to green tea and I like that this one is light and not bitter. I HATE bitterness in tea and in some teas you just can’t get away from it so it’s a relief when I don’t have to deal with that kind of drama. Haha
The ginger is balanced with the green tea and it has a little hit of pear in the mix which I was nervous about but I actually enjoy it. All in all, a good, balanced, refreshing cup of tea to start my day off right!

The smell of this while it steeps is pure magic! Just the most delectable and heavenly aroma. Unfortunately, the magic ends there. It’s not that it tastes bad, it just doesn’t taste as good as it smells. The strawberry flavour is nice but that’s all I get, just strawberries overtop of a strong bitterness. It would have been a lot better if the bitterness wasn’t present. It distracts from the lovely, juicy strawberry flavour. Where’s the cake? There’s nothing cake-like about this at all to my taste buds. It’s not terrible but it’s nothing special either. Just sub-par. I’ll finish the box but I won’t re-purchase.

I had a terrible cold in the Fall and friends of mine dropped off a “get well” basket for me which was very kind of them. This tea was in the said basket. I’ve never been a huge fan of ginger in tea but I have to say, this tea is really well done! I drank it when I was sick and it was quite soothing and comforting. The flavour is right where it should be. Lots of zing from the ginger and it’s definitely at the forefront with the lemon happily bringing up the rear. It’s the kind of tea that puts a smile on your face. President’s Choice did a great job with this one!
