I really love the way rooibos steeps up so beautifully dark. Adding milk or cream just makes it so luscious. This is a nice chocolate peppermint tea, both flavors equally present. I wouldn’t say it’s special, but I’m enjoying it. Strangely enough, as it cools there is a fruity note to the blend that’s adding some depth. It’s strawberry, I think? It seems like it would be out of place, but I really like it! Bumping the rating up a bit for the strawberry surprise. :D

For this month’s summer vacation sipdown theme, I’m having this Irish coffee tea from AQ2T. I did a quick search and it seems that Irish coffee did originate in Ireland. I’m working so no whiskey, but I added some brown sugar and a layer of whipped cream on top after looking through some recipes online. I overwhipped my cream so it was stiff and not pourable but still as tasty. The coffee flavor is light but noticeable. It may be the addition of brown sugar and cream but I am also tasting caramel. The caffeine is too much for me and I don’t like the flavor enough for it to be worth it. In the end, I gulped this one quickly just to get it over with. Not a fan.

Surprise! This tastes like peppermint!
I’m always saying I’m not a fan of herbals, but I usually enjoy them when I have one. Unless James pulls some Yogi bag out of the medicinal tea drawer. Those rarely go over well for me. I don’t normally drink tea after dinner, though sometimes I do have a sleep blend if I feel I need one. Tonight, my stomach is crampy so I’m sitting in a comfy chair with a soft blanket, a heating pad, and this simple peppermint tea. Hopefully one of these items helps and I can go to bed soon.

I was grumpy this morning and annoyed, not for any reason in particular really. My husband casually suggested I have a cup of Positive Energy, lol. I can’t say it worked, though I did get less grumpy as the day went on. Maybe it did it’s thing after all.
Looking at the ingredient list now and there isn’t any licorice root (surprise!), but it does have stevia leaf if that taste bothers you. I’m not a fan of stevia sometimes, but I didn’t notice any weird aftertaste in this one. This is one of the few Yogi teas I really like and (usually) drink by choice.
I actually don’t mind licorice root in the right places, but stevia and especially monk fruit are a huge no for me.
I’m not sure if there is really a difference or if my mind is playing tricks on me, but I feel like I can tell the difference when the ingredients list stevia as opposed to stevia leaf. They may be using the same stuff, but for some reason I don’t tend to get as much of an aftertaste with the stevia leaf. Again, might be my brain assuming the leaf is more natural or something. I don’t think I’ve tried monk fruit, but I normally don’t like artificial sweeteners of any kind and licorice root reminds me of that flavor.
I haven’t been sleeping well lately. For a while now, really. James insisted on making a cup of this for me before bed tonight. I didn’t protest. I really love this blend and I really want to sleep. Is there anyone else who enjoys this one as much as I do? I’d love to find a replacement.
