2170 Tasting Notes
Made a cup of this tonight with some frothed milk. I wouldn’t usually think to add milk to an herbal blend, but my husband made it with milk the last time and it was so good. I think this might be my new favorite way to drink herbals. Maybe a little cinnamon on top next time?
Enjoying my last bag of this. I need the extra caffeine today, but it’s also got me feeling a bit jittery. I won’t be adding this to my wishlist, but I enjoyed what I had.
Preparation
This is in my permanent portable emergency lineup, particularly for strength reasons. One of the few I can drink in a hotel room and still actually taste some tea.
It definitely has some strength behind it! I always enjoy this one when we are traveling and stay in hotels (which we haven’t done now in a while).
The aroma is so distinctly vanilla bean, so much so that it’s as if I’d opened a pouch of fresh vanilla beans ready for baking. There’s such a difference between extract (unless it’s good extract) and the whole bean. I love that I get the real deal here. I first tried steeping for three minutes (as the label recommends), but the color was very light so I let it go for an additional two. The wet leaves smell deliciously of malt. The flavor is dark chocolate, almost like a hot cocoa light on the sugar.
Second Steep
8 ounces water + 212 degrees + 20 minutes
I had to give this one a second steep, even though lately I haven’t had much success with them. This one turned out just fine, probably lighter on the chocolate so that the vanilla comes through.
Flavors: Dark Chocolate, Malt, Vanilla
Preparation
So is this meant to taste like pumpkin butter and cookies or pumpkin and butter cookies? It’s spiced which is just what I wanted this morning. I made it extra strong after reading a couple other notes and I’m glad that I did.
Flavors: Spices
Preparation
I goofed and used more water than I intended so I hope this doesn’t come out a bit on the weak side.
Not too light at all! I really love this one so I hoard it, but I know I shouldn’t.
Flavors: Astringent, Medicinal, Violet
