I had a note and I lost it! Ugh. Basically this blend is deep, dark, and perfect for a cozy winter night.

Oh wait, it’s still autumn…

This is one of my absolute favorites! I also really like Teeccino’s Butterscotch Cream Chaga Ashwagandha tea (which sounds very weird and/ or nasty, but it’s really very delightful)!

Shae

That actually sounds amazing and not weird/nasty at all! I don’t think I’ve had a Teeccino blend that I haven’t liked, but I admittedly haven’t tried most of their blends.

This is one of the few white teas I’ve enjoyed, so it’s a little sad to finish the last of this one knowing it won’t be coming back. It’s not an all-time favorite, but I’ve enjoyed it each time I’ve had a cup.

drank Blueberry Jam Organic by DAVIDsTEA

Tasting this before adding anything and the stevia really jumps out at me as the single dominating flavor. After adding a bit of cream and honey (yes, even with the stevia), it’s pretty much heaven. Somehow those additions temper the artificial taste and bring out the delightful flavors of the blend.

I can’t remember if I have had this before or not? Probably since I’ve had a lot of DT. But it would be lovely to find a blueberry tea that didn’t have stevia. Do you have any you’d recommend?

Shae

The only one I can think of that is a blueberry black tea is this one:

I tried it in their sampler box and really liked it!

Martin Bednář

https://www.barharbortea.com/ have some blueberry teas as well, but sadly I have no experience with their tea.

Shae

Thanks, Martin! I’ll add this one to my list to try.

Martin Bednář

I have wrote them an email approx. year ago if they are able to share some samples with me (tea bags only) and they never replied. Shipping for me was terribly expensive.

Tiffany :)

@Shae and @Martin thanks, I’ve never heard of these brands you’ve suggested. :)

I definitely should not have sweetened this one. All I can taste is the licorice which is cloyingly sweet already. Yikes.

Flavors: Licorice

Ooh…just reading this is making me wince ;)

Shae

Yeah, it was bad.

Martin Bednář

Sweetening a Yogi tea? Not a great idea!

Shae

I should have known better, Martin! What was I thinking???

drank Zingiber Ginger Coconut by Teavana
2170 tasting notes

A sad sipdown for me. I discovered too late, long after Teavana had already closed, that I love this blend. Adagio is encouraging me to Buy Now their supposed equivalent Thai Chai, which I’ve had before and didn’t like nearly as much. There are some similarities, both have ginger and coconut, but this is a rooibos and the other is a black tea. To me, that’s an important distinction. I have some other rooibos chai blends that I enjoy, so I’ll be okay without this one. It’s probably good that I’m finishing it now since it’s starting to taste a little bitter around the edges.

Profile

Bio

Lifetime student. Lover of books and paper and ink. Kitchen dweller. Aspiring herbalist, excessively proud cat lady, and tea fanatic. Thirty-something elder millennial. She/her.

I love flavored black teas most of all, always with cream and honey. I enjoy floral and fruity teas, as well as flavored or scented ones. I’m not overly fond of green or white teas, but I’ve found a few that I enjoy.

I’m open to tea swaps and/or just sharing what’s in my tea cabinet! Please reach out if you see something I have that you’d like to try. I do my best to update my cupboard regularly.

Favorites
Any and all black teas, smoky teas, raspberry, strawberry, red fruits, bergamot, chai spices, floral teas, caramel/toffee, jasmine, rose, vanilla, peaches, plums, valerian root, cinnamon, cardamom

Not a huge fan
White teas, green teas, artificial sweeteners, sarsaparilla, licorice, lemongrass, lavender, hot hibiscus, hibiscus in black tea blends

Rating Scale

1-20: By far, one of the worst teas I’ve tasted. I most certainly will not finish my cup and will likely “gift” the rest to my sweet husband, James, who almost always enjoys the teas I dislike (and vice versa).

21-49: This tea is not good, but if I mix it with another tea or find another steeping method I might be able to finish it.

50-69: This one is just okay. I might drink it again if someone were to give it to me, but I probably won’t be buying more for myself.

70-79: This is a consistently good tea. It’s reliable but not necessarily special.

80-90: This one is a notch above the rest and I would gladly enjoy a cup of it any day of the week. I’ll likely be keeping this in my cupboard, but it isn’t one of my all-time favorites.

91-95: One small change and this tea would be perfect. I’ll definitely have a stash of this in my kitchen if you come over for tea.

96-100: No words can describe this tea. It’s an experience, an aha moment. Closed eyes, wide smile, encompassing warmth. Absolutely incredible. Perfect.
