One word- WOW. I have been really picky with tea lately. Especially with nut flavors, because I feel like they all taste the same. Ive been trying different companies and none of them have nutty teas that are unique. Except for this one. I have never tasted a blend like this before. I swear I can taste the toastedness of the pecans. I can taste the hazelnut. And normally I dont like chocolate in tea, but really it just accentuates the nuttiness and lends some creaminess to the overall cup. This isn’t artificial tasting at all and the black tea is smooth- not bitter or astringent. I’ll be ordering more. Wish this came in a caffeine-free version.

The black tea in this one was a little strong, maybe I steeped it for too long (5 mins) but there was a slight bitterness/astringency to the aftertaste. The coconut was more in scent than in flavor, but it did mix nicely with that vanilla/custardy/cream flavor of creme brûlée. I dont think I would buy this one again, and its not my favorite from PD, but its also not “bad”. If you like the taste of black tea and you’re a huge fan of it (I’m not) then I think you’ll definitely enjoy this. However, if you’re more into subtle teas with lots of flavor like I am, then this may not be up your ally.

I was hoping this tea would be buttery and like a sugar cookie. However, its more interesting than anything lol. I feel like it tastes like black tea and smells like cumin. Which is slightly disappointing..I was hoping for something more flavorful and the smell of cumin is extremely odd in tea.

drank Cinnamon Plum by Fava Tea Company

I feel bad for how I’m rating this tea. And ill tell you why…its because the smell of this tea is absolutely out of this world. It smells like cinnamon oatmeal cookies with brown sugar. But once steeped, that damn hibiscus ruins it completely. The steeped liquid still smells incredible, like snickerdoodles with just this yummy tiny hint of sweet plums; and the aftertaste is like cinnamon brown sugar cookies too! But the hibiscus overpowers EVERYTHING unfortunately. So the main flavor I’m getting is tart. And I hate it so much. Dear Fava, please make this without hibiscus next time because my rating would have been 100% without question. I can tell exactly what this would taste like without the hibiscus and it would be phenomenal! Why do these companies ruin these blends with hibiscus? Such a waste.

I have this tea (same blend, from a different company) and actually really like it, though I do like hibiscus… and I recall in my review saying that the hibiscus flavor was quite strong and not recommending it to anyone that doesn’t like hibiscus teas. I recently tried a tea that reminded me of this one, except it had no hibiscus or plum flavor, which was Cran Marnier from Art of Tea. It was supposed to have a cranberry flavor but it didn’t taste berry-like at all to me, all I tasted was a very strong cinnamon and clove spice… it wasn’t “hot” though, just warming and cider-like. The base is rooibos and honeybush. Maybe it would be closer to getting that cinnamon cookie flavor you are looking for?

Disappointed in this blend because I dont believe it lived up to its name or description. I am a huge lover of banana in tea. One of my all-time favorites, and a staple in my tea stash, is Banana Nut Bread from DAVIDsTEA. Anytime I see banana, I always try it. I was also intrigued by Whistling Kettle’s description of this tea, particularly the notes of graham cracker. It sounded really good. I used about 2 1/2 tsp (1 perfect spoonful) to my 12oz perfect mug (DT’s tea ware). I boiled some water and then let it sit for a few minutes and poured it in. I let this steep for about 6 mins. I literally can’t say that I tasted much of anything except for chamomile. To be fair, I think I’m coming down with a cold so my tastebuds may be dulled right now- but really it tasted like I was just drinking chamomile tea! :( this was super disappointing. however, i will play around with this blend and ill keep trying it since i have a bunch left.

For whatever reason, pumpkin teas this season really dont smell or taste like actual pumpkin. More so, like pumpkin spice- which is just cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, etc….which is essentially chai. But not Pleasing Pumpkin! This one actual smells like pumpkin. As if I am smelling the inside of a pumpkin pie. Pumpkin Squash sprinkled with cinnamon and nutmeg. The taste is not as strong as the scent, but its still good and I will definitely purchase again. This is better than any pumpkin tea I’ve tasted so far :)

This tea contains apple pieces and whole marshmallows, so its both sweet and tart with an aftertaste of apple and nuts. Id say the apple is the most prevalent taste here, followed by the nuts and the marshmallows really just add sugar and not much else. I enjoy this blend but I dont think I would purchase again. If I want an apple/nut blend, Forever Nuts from DAVIDsTEA is much better.

drank Vanilla Hazelnut by Yogi Tea

The packaging image of this tea is different than in this picture now, and its now called “Tahitian Vanilla Hazelnut” from Yogi Teas. I read the reviews on here, and I really am a huge fan of Vanilla and Hazelnut flavors so I bought it at my local grocery store. This tasted nothing like vanilla and nothing like hazelnut. The most prominent ingredient that I could taste and smell was Clove. I was really disappointed as I was looking forward to vanilla & hazelnut flavors. Also, in the ingredients list on the box it says butterscotch flavor- and I couldn’t detect that at all.

So for this tea I have to respectfully disagree with the reviewers before me. I felt that this tea delivered in both smell and taste. The smell of this one is my favorite of any tea I’ve smelled lol. If you’ve ever had Forever Nuts from DAVID’s TEA its very similar to that, minus the apples and heavier on the cinnamon spice. Its not a hot cinnamon though (thank God because I hate hot cinnamon). Its more of a vanilla almond cinnamon. Its not so much nutty on taste as it is sweet almond, but it doesn’t take it too far that it crosses over into “cherry” territory; because in that case I would not like it. This really is one of my all-time favorites, and now that I am pregnant I am excited to sip on it all fall and winter since it is caffeine free, so I can have as much as I want!
