The ginger taste is overpowering on this one, so flavour of the pear isn’t really discernible. I loved this when I had a cold or sore throat. It’s extremely soothing and I think it’d be amazing with a touch of honey.

The cost made me lower its score – there’s not a lot of white tea in there.

drank English Toffee by DAVIDsTEA

Along with the orange chocolate pu’er, English toffee was high on my “must try” list. Three things made me gift this tea to a friend (who loved it): the lack of a toffee taste, the film of oil at the top (which is especially disgusting since I put milk in it), and the alcoholic aftertaste. It’s like having Bailey’s Irish cream without the cream, the sweetness and just…alcohol.

One thing to note is that it smells DIVINE. And it tastes nothing like the way it smells! That probably made it an even bigger let down in my books.

I was sorely disappointed with this one. I LOVE the combination of orange and chocolate, and I was dying to try this tea. I really couldn’t taste the chocolate or orange beyond the artificial sweetener that was used. Very disappointing – on the market for a different chocolate orange tea!

My favourite earl grey ever. I initially got the tea sachet version, but that led to over-caffeination on my part. After I found my perfect steeper (from David’s Tea), I bought a tin of loose leaf and never looked back.

Distinct notes of bergamot, this black tea literally warms the soul. It’s my go-to cheer up drink for those dreary mornings. I usually have it with some full cream milk.

drank Snow Day by DAVIDsTEA
37 tasting notes

I tried this when I ordered the 24 Days of Tea Advent Calendar (from 2016). I was surprised at how much I liked it – it tasted like After Eight in liquid form to me. (I have been cutting down sugar, so that may be why this tasted so sweet to me.)

I had it with quite a bit of milk – I’d say about 1-2oz. This was definitely one of the few David’s Tea that I liked from the Advent Calendar. I even bought more during the sale.

Flavors: Peppermint, White Chocolate

I was looking for something that recreated the feeling of having an After Eight in a cup, as I did with Snow Day from David’s Tea. However, Snow Day contains actual white chocolate chips, and since I am trying to decrease my sugar consumption, I was hoping for a reasonable substitute from TWG given my love for their Chocolate Earl Grey.

Although the tea smelled deliciously minty, the scent did not translate into its taste. Both the mint and the chocolate flavours were weak to me, despite varying my steep time. The tea guide at TWG recommended that I steep fro 5-7 minutes, and nothing in that timeframe made a huge difference to the flavour.

I had it without milk or sugar. I much prefer Snow Day over this.

This is by far my favourite TWG tea. Introduced to me during a decadent afternoon tea with a friend, and I came home with a 50g bag.

The earl grey is light on the bergamot with an aromatic scent of cocoa that carries over to its taste. It’s great for the days that you want something “chocolate-y” but you are trying to refrain from actually eating chocolate. This is the only “chocolate tea” that I have tried that retains a cocoa flavour without adding artificial flavouring or actual chocolate chips. The cocoa shells do the trick!

I love it hot with a splash of milk.

Through my obsession with mugs, I began my foray into teas when I added some tea into my basket to make free shipping.

I prefer my black teas with milk (and no sugar), and green teas straight up.
