1233 Tasting Notes
This tea has me stuck in a rut. It has a slight flavor reminiscent more of thai cooking then it does of thai tea. Which I was kinda hoping for thai tea but I feel like I should be eating this with a thai dish. It needs a bit more of a kick for it to be considered a chai in my thoughts. Otherwise its good.
Trying brewed hot first. Though after reading some comments while waiting for it to steep I kinda wish I had just done cold. So far I agree that it is nothing special when its hot. In fact its kinda mediocre hot. As it starts to cool off the flavor is improving. A bit of honey would really make it great!
When you come across a tea like this it truly makes you thankful to those who picked it. It’s a refined and truly noble tea. One can almost see a king sitting on his throne and drinking this. It goes down smoothly like a bourbon. The roasted, slightly nutty flavor is just amazing. I have to confess though I’m not one who generally drinks darker oolongs but ones like this truly need to be tasted to be appreciated.
Try this both hot and cold. It is enjoyable either way.
Preparation
Blueberry torte? More like Blueberry TART!!! It’s so tart! It’s like a punch in the face. Though it starts out tart and ends sweet which is nice. I did a cold brew so maybe that affected the flavors a bit. Steeped it for around an hour. Lots of blueberry flavor.
Flavors: Blueberry
Preparation
A very unique tisane. The strawberry flavor starts off the sip but is immediately taken over by hibiscus. As far as truffle flavor goes… I can maybe see this as a vanilla truffle with a strawberry filling but the hibiscus is too strong to make a good truffle flavor. Maybe needs some vanilla.
Aroma: sweet, nutty, tropical, tangy
Flavor: What is going on in my mouth?!?!?! It starts off smooth with an unknown, indescribable flavor and slowly makes its way to an amazing coconut and pineapple sensation! Pumpkin and carrot….what?! I can’t wrap my head around this tisane. Had to cold steep it because I dislike using hotel Keurigs. The water gets way to hot for me. I think this is better cold.
