I have arrived home after Christmas holidays at my parents place. The first thing I did when I got in the door was put on the kettle to make some tea in my new teapot I received for Christmas. I have had this tea (Choconut Oolong) on my shelf for a long time – I actually have a tin of it, which is quite a lot. It is from Winter 2013…and we are heading into 2016…so yes, quite awhile. Since I got the teapot for Christmas though my memory was jogged of this tea, and a couple others that I haven’t tasted in a long while. I have been fantasizing about drinking it again and what the flavour was like. So here I am…sipping away. It is quite what I remembered, it smells and tastes very much like hazelnuts to me though I can also taste a roasted almond flavour. At the end of a sip I do get a very sweet hit, which I am not terribly fond of as it tastes a bit artificial. It’s still a relaxing and enjoyable tea.

I’m still pretty new at writing tea tastings so pardon if my descriptions are not very intuitive yet, I am still learning and developing my taste palette.

Flavors: Almond, Hazelnut, Sweet

You are doing just fine! Just write what you taste or feel when you drink the tea, nothing more required :) I actually really liked your description of this tea, even though you wouldn’t recommend to drink it!

@Mookit thank you! I didn’t mind the tea until the licoricy sweetness kicked in at the end as an aftertaste. It has an artifical taste about it that I did not enjoy at all. Without it, this tea would be simply pleasant!

I am doing a giveaway of samples of this tea right now. If you are interested I could send you a sample. Just PM me your address. I’m following you.
