Every sip goes like this; sweet, natural strawberry → creamy, buttery toffee → nice snap of ginger. The flavors all hang in perfect balance with the Dragon Well.. So good.

I’ve heard many stories where the tea obsessed receive undrinkable tea from friends as gifts.. lucky for me, my friends have amazing taste. This tea was a gift from a friend a while back and it’s phenomenal. A buttery, light oolong with a bit of grassiness. The flavor description on the bag is spot on.

The orange and citrus smells of this are strong, but when I drink it they pretty much go away. They are present, but very light. What’s that about?

I was going to drink Draught of Peace, but I ended up spilling half of the tin on the desk and floor of my office. So instead I’m drinking this one.

Lots of caramel flavor. LOTS. It’s good. The rooibos is a nice touch in this, I really like black tea and rooibos mixed together.

drank Raspberry Green by Adagio Teas

This tea is drinkable, I guess, but the raspberry tastes very artificial. I will probably reserve the rest of this for iced tea blends.

I can hardly taste chocolate or pumpkin in this tea. The spice flavors are overwhelming and there’s specifically too much cinnamon.

You might be wondering why I am drinking this in the middle of June. I’m wondering the same thing. Is it fall yet?

drank Pineapple Sencha by Den's Tea

This is wonderful; light and sweet, with a very natural pineapple flavor. I drank it hot this morning but cannot wait to have it iced this weekend.

drank Houjicha "Hyottoko" by Ujien

I brought this back from Japan and omg this is like the earthiest tasting green tea I have ever had in my life. And I don’t really like it.. at all. I might have oversteeped so I will try again but… meh.

It’s weird because I drank SO MUCH of this specific “winter” hojicha when I was in Japan and it tasted much better than this. But this one has a lot of twiggy pieces in it. Idk if it’s just because this in tea bags or what, but bleh.

Got the Tolkien Teas sampler set!! I tried to add the Wizard’s Grey that I drank while at work, but steepster won’t let me add teas :( it crashes every time.

Anyway, when I got home from work and showed this sampler set to my fiance, he HAD to try this one. So I made some for myself (hot), and made it iced for him. This tea looks beautiful in the tin. Wasn’t sure what to go with for steep time and temp since it is a blend of three different types of tea, but decided to go with 165° for 3 minutes so I wouldn’t bring out the black too much. Turned out to be a very smooth tea, a good blend of the vanilla and creme, and it reminds me of eating a blueberry scone. Well great, now I want an actual blueberry scone. Next time I make this I’m going to try a hotter water temp and see how that changes the flavor.

Preparation
165 °F / 73 °C 3 min, 0 sec
