This has been in my cupboard for a couple of months. I was leaving it to get through the tea’s from my swaps, but I have mostly black tea’s, and since I was having trouble sleeping last night, I went for this instead.

The dry leaf aroma reminds me of margarita’s. Right now I wish it was a margarita or at least tasted like it, but no. That’s ok. Is still really delicious.

Sweet lime cream. That’s what it tastes like. Surprisingly not tart, which I prefer. Have to try a cold brew for this one.

Very tasty. Yum, yum.

I had tried this one quite some time ago, and had promised that I would re-visit it, since I thought I had messed by adding too much honey. I am now sipping this, and my opinion has not changed.

I didn’t add honey. Just a teaspoon of white sugar. I am not very fond of this one. I am getting ginger and something else, but not cookie. Has kind of a funky taste. I like sweets, but this one is not for me.

My thanks to Dexter3657 for letting me sample this one, and opening my horizons to new experiences! If you don’t try, then you don’t know what suits your liking.

Dexter3657 sent me a very generous package of this tea…thank you!

This is a light tasting tea. The flavours are there…but not too much. By that I mean I get the toffee flavour, but it is barely there. I get a hint of the apple…but also barely there. Same with the smoke…there, but not too much. It is a tea of subtle flavours.

This will do when I want a lighter tasting tea.

Thank you Dexter3657 for your generosity!

drank Mango Fruit Punch by DAVIDsTEA
286 tasting notes

So busy lately and now have only a few moments to try to log this one.

I purchased this when it first came out at the beginning of summer and have finally got around to cold brewing and drinking it.

This is quite sweet, but not in a bad way. I am enjoy the fruity juicy mango sweetness of this one. It’s going down pretty quick ’cos it is sticky hot and humid. Again.

I am not a huge fan of fruit teas, but some, such as this one are really good.

I have been off site going mental, preparing for the in-law visit (yay). Ahh, they are nice people; they welcomed me in their home a few weeks ago, and despite that I am spouse #2,they were very warm to me. So, I have been going crazy cleaning, cooking and food shopping in preparation for their visit, which led me astray from steepster for the duration.

On to the tea…I am glad that this was not my first experience with Mandala. I am a little disappointed with this pu’erh. It tastes a little weak and a bit musty to me.

It is however, a new tasting experience, thanks to Dexter3657, for this sample. While not to my preference, I am still waiting to put in an order with Mandala (tea hiatus), as I have read so many good things about their pu’erhs, as well as having an awesome tasting experience in a previous note.

Dexter

This wasn’t my favorite Mandala Pu’er either. I think I started with a couple of AMAZING ones, and the other GOOD ones just pale in comparison. Glad you tried it. My favorites might not be your favorites, so is good that you get to sample a few. :))

I so appreciate your samples! Looking forward to trying ‘noble mark’.

Dexter

:)) Noble Mark is still my favorite. Good luck with the in-law visit.

I received this in an outrageous swap with Dexter3657…thank you for this one!

This is my first go with guayusa, and had no idea what it was going to taste like. This also, is not a tea that I would have picked out for myself, but this has proven to me ‘if you don’t try, you don’t know….’ This has been a positive tasting experience.

I gathered from name of this tea that it would have some sort of citrus flavour to it, so I expected it to be kind of sour and tart. Was I ever wrong. Not sour at all. It is a sweet lemon crumble aroma/taste. I didn’t add any sugar, this tea didn’t need it. It had a natural sweet, smooth, lemon creaminess which required no additives.

I’ll have to keep this one in mind… after I fix my ageing car and house issues, and see what I’m left with :(

Terri HarpLady

Hmmm….I’ve been avoiding this one, pretty thinking it would be tart like you, but now I’m tempted to request a sample with my ‘next’ Butiki order.

Butiki Teas

Terri-This is one of my favorite morning drinks and my favorite guayusa flavor. I highly recommend requesting a sample. :)

This is really good!! Not tart at all.

Dexter

Glad you are enjoying it scribbles… I didn’t care for it, so it’s nice to know that it found a good home. :))

scribbles

Thank you for sending me this!! I did enjoy this!

Nxtdoor

Yep. This was awesome with sugar and a slice of lemon as garnish. I pretended i was in places other than my backyard!

scribbles

Ooohhh, sounds lovely….will try your way, lounging in backyard, pretending somewhere far away from city….difficult though it may be with 401 running along my green belt.

Dexter

Maybe that’s what I did wrong with this tea… I didn’t pretend I was somewhere else……

I got a sample of this from JustJames quite some time ago. I am really surprised at how much I like their tea’s despite being pre-bagged.

This I drank as a hot brew and added some rock sugar, and was surprised at how delicious this is!

The brewed colour was purple, which was also a surprise, considering the name of the tea.

The flavour was sweet, tangy apple with a hint of vanilla. I wish I had more of this! Thank you JustJames for this sample!!

Aimee Popovacki

that sounds awesome!

This was a tasty surprise.

I got a sample of this from JustJames in our first swap, and have finally tried it. Thank you JustJames!

When I opened the packet I got an immediate sweet blueberry note wafting towards me, and thought, this is going to be really good.

I cold brewed it overnight, and added a little rock sugar. The overall flavour was ok. It tasted just like it’s aroma – sweet blueberries, but just a little weak. Perhaps my error by adding to much water.

I can’t give a numerical rating for this, because it was on the weak side, and possibly/probably my fault. I don’t have another packet to try again. I think if it had less water or 2 bags, it would be have just fine.

This was from the generous Dexter3657, who has sent many pu’erh samples, this being of them…I thank you so very much!!

This one falls on the lighter side of pu’erh. From the name I kin of expected that it would brew to a lighter colour…deep golden colour.

The taste is lighter as well. There is light earthy quality that puts to mind the ravine and trails that beast and I traverse. The tea is a little woodsy…but not overpowering. It is a pleasing outdoorsy taste.

I usually add creamer to the darker pu’erhs, but it is not required in this case. This one I did straight up. This sample will have me looking at more raw pu’erhs…thank you Dexter for introducing me to a variety of pu’erhs!

I am currently on steep 2, and I anticipate several more steepings.

The brewed colour is now deeper, as is the taste. Earthy clay-like taste, but still pleasing.

I so love pu’erhs.

JustJames

i am having a moment of puerh envy….. lol!

Dexter

I haven’t tried this yet. I am so happy that you liked it. I look forward to trying it. I don’t have a lot of sheng either, I really need to explore it more. I’ve enjoyed the few I’ve tried.

My tea journey started in 2012, when a friend gifted me some loose leaf. I guess she thought I was drinking too much coffee. Blown away by the amazing flavours I immediately embraced the loose leaf tea. I still drink coffee, but my main choice of beverage is now tea.

My tea preferences are blacks, pu’erhs, oolongs and greens.
