Another tea from Emilie. I’m wondering if I didn’t steep this long enough…I definitely saw white chocolate in the tea, but I didn’t taste much of anything but straight up rooibos.

Emilie sent me some of this, yay! It’s smells really nice, and maybe my nose is just attuned to it, but I got coconut right away. I adore coconut in tea. The tea itself is much prettier than I expected, with pale strips of coconut, slices of vanilla bean and tiny blue cornflowers (I love watching the color drain from the flowers. I guess I expected more of a buttery, caramel flavor than I got, which was mostly coconut and vanilla. I tasted the butter notes more as it sat a bit, which is interesting.

Emilie

Glad to know I’m not alone! Everyone else seems to rave about the buttery-ness, but the few times I have had this, it’s been closer to what you described.

A nice, simple tea I enjoy drinking at night to wind down. No weird woody flavor, but there’s something in there besides pure vanilla. It’s not unpleasant, I just can’t identify it. I’ve heard this is a great tea for mixing, I’ll have to try it!

I really like this one too. Discovered it last year, and I’d agree—there’s something there besides vanilla. I was a little off-put by the smell when I first opened it—I thought “oh no, this is gonna taste like frosting.” But it doesn’t. And it’s lovely.

Rebecca Lynn

You don’t like the taste of frosting?!

potatowedges

Well, I was a little overpowered by it. I’m not generally a frosting girl (unless it’s cream cheese. And made from scratch.)

Got this as a sample from a DavidsTea order, and I’ve been saving it for a while. There’s a ton of stuff in the tea, more than I expected from 5g. pretty lemon myrtle flowers and a bright citrusy scent. It was really fun to watch brew, the leaves unfurl so beautifully. The tea itself is a pretty gold color with a distinctly lemon flavor. I actually think the second steep was more lemony than the first.

Rebecca Lynn

Rebrewed this like, 7 times. Iced was the most refreshing thing I’ve had in a while.

Kittenna

I’m mixed in my opinion on this one. Will have to try it iced!

Yummy! A friend gave me some of this to try, and it really does taste like maple syrup. The color is quite pretty as well, and I like watching the cute little maple sprinkles :)

Bonnie

If you ever have some Lapsang Souchong Tea add a pinch and some Applewood Salt (pinch) to your Oh Canada and wow it’s like you got some maple on your bacon at breakfast. Yummy!

Rebecca Lynn

That…sounds…awesome!

Kittenna

Bonnie – since I now have both Oh Canada, and some Lapsang Souchong mixes in my cupboard, I think I might try this! Don’t have applewood salt though, sigh.

Bonnie

Just try a little lapsang Souchong to start …a big pinch for 24oz pot of tea is what I tried first until you find what you like. You can always add more.

Mmm, I was attracted to the pretty tin, I must admit. But I tried some in a tea shop and loved it, even without sweetener (which is unusual for me). Rich, but not overpowering chocolate scented leaves that carries over to the cup. Doesn’t seem quite as heavy as the average chocolate tea.

Amazing, intoxicating aroma, every cup is a treat. I think it’s much tastier than Adagio’s blend. Not quite sure how to brew it to get the maximum flavor, any tips?

drank Florence by Harney & Sons

Mmm, wish I had more Florence right now. I never really could figure out what the flavor besides chocolate was (hazelnut, I know this now!) except that it was delicious and nutty. Lovely plan or with milk and sugar.

Oy. I do not like this at all. The is the first mate I’ve had, and perhaps the last. Smelled strongly of coffee and something else I couldn’t identify. Tasted really bitter and woody. Not worth drinking for me.

Azzrian

Awee sorry that this did not settle with you but don’t give up on mate! I had a wonderful one today with pistachio and lime that was SO yummy – nothing like coffee!

Rebecca Lynn

Pistachio and lime — I’d never think of putting those two together!

A really flavorful chai but not overwhelmingly spicy. I think I like this more than the average chai.

Hi! I’ve been drinking tea since I was a little kid, sipping on Lipton orange herbal tea with a spoonful of sugar when I was sick. When I went to England and experienced real, loose leaf tea, I was converted permanently. I prefer strong black teas, but I’m branching out into other flavors!
