drank Verbena by Mighty Leaf Tea

I bought this tea because i needed a few herbal options to unwind after a late night of teaching. A reviewer on mighty leaf said she had this at a cafe in France and I just had to try it. Currently on the iPad and having trouble picking exact brewing specs… But brew for about 6 minutes at 197 degrees. I was pretty impressed with the overall presentation of tea. For only 8 bucks or so I get this huge bag of loose, full leaf verbena. I had a ton of trouble putting the large tea leaves in a tea infuser but you can actually press them down without causing the dried leaves to crumble. I love this tea… Totally refreshing and lemony without that nasty anise taste most lemon teas have. It has floral under tones that make this an amazing summer tea for after dinner or before bed. No caffeine. A sure fire keeper.

drank Lapsang Souchong by Narien Teas

I have never given a tea 100 points before, and l’m not exactly sure what a 100 point tea would have to do for me. Massage my feet? Cook me dinner? This as close to 100 as it gets for me. I surprisingly fell in love with this tea. It’s not as bitter or as strong as you would expect from the smell – and this is coming from someone who’s perhaps had Lapsang souchong once, maybe twice years before, so I don’t really have anything to compare it to. But I enjoy this tea so much and I find that the smell along centers me somehow, easing away stress. I picture myself in the deep woods, in autumn, with every sip. It’s magical. Really.

drank Jasmine Pearls by Narien Teas

I have to say not only are these extremely convenient, but with a little rose honey coupled with the pearl’s delicate flavor, it’s an amazing tea. Mild in flavor, no bitterness whatsoever. A huge fan. I like to steep the tea for an extra minute but the recommendation is 1-2.

My sister gave me an entire “fruit” basket of Narien teas for my birthday – and I have to say all of them are pretty amazing. I’m not normally a green tea fan. I find most of them bitter – but this may be my first experience with full leaves. I added about a teaspoon for 3 minutes and the taste is much more soft than I remember. It would be almost delicate except for the fact the flavor stays with you for a while, well after you’ve swallowed the sip, sort of growing in intensity in your mouth. Overall, I find myself growing tired of the taste after one cup, so it’s definitely something I would have every other day or so at most. It’s definitely a treasure though and something I look forward to having again.

At first I was bummed that mighty leaf only had Orchid Oolong in a 50 pack and super expensive, but I soon discovered I could enjoy this tea loose – I was super jazzed. It’s been a while since I tried this tea, most likely a sample, and I was not disappointed. I adore this tea. The smell is grand and the taste is even better. It’s full bodied but no real bitterness – it’s on the verge of being delicate. Slight fruity smell but more refined as opposed to artificial. A+

So overjoyed that my mighty leaf order came today. This is my first time trying their loose tea. Not only do the loose teas make way more than their teabags, it’s way more cost effective and so much better on the environment.

Smell is awesome – not fruity, but organic.

It’s possible I used too much tea or over-steeped – it was a bit strong, but like Hannah said, the flavors are really subtle so it was nice to be able to taste them a bit more. The bitterness isn’t too bad, so the tea is a bit forgiving in that regard. After a few tastes, it does kind of taste like darjeeling or irish breakfast. I will steep less next time and see if that changes my opinion.

The smell of this tea upon opening the pouch is insanely incredible. Super fruity – like a jolly rancher. There is though a hint or something artificial about it – I can’t quite place it.

Waiting a whole 4 minutes for this thing to steep, I finally take a taste only to be super disappointed. Super weak stuff and the smell is only a faint memory. After letting it steep an extra minute, same results. It just seems like a bad knockoff of Tazo’s passion tea. It just tastes watered down.

Not bad, but not really good either. I’ll finish off the tea over the upcoming months and probably not buy it again. If anyone wants to try this, please let me know and I will send you some!
