The smell when I opened the packet was delightful. The smell of orange peel was so lovely. Its something I enjoy so much.

After steeped its not so much. The smell is much less and I’m just not getting much flavor. Maybe i needed to steep this for longer.

Not rating until I have a chance to try it again after giving it more time.

This turned out to be uneventful. I could taste a little roasty toasty, but it was rather mild. Otherwise it seemed to be nothing special but also nothing bad either.

I’ll definitely finish the sample I got, but I’m not currently interested in getting more.

I did a second sample of this one yesterday and agree with you that it’s not that….eventful :)

I knew from the outset that this would be chancy. I’m not a fan of floral flavors, but I’ve never tried violet before so I thought what the heck.

The smell of the dried leaf reminds me of cool-aid packets with a tinge of soap maybe? Steeped, its not so much cool-aid though there is still a hint of a generic fruity scent/flavor.

What gets me the most however, is usually what happens with floral teas. Its very reminiscent of what i refer to as old lady perfume. You know, those ones that say they are of some floral scent, but the scent smells more like it came out of a chemistry lab than a flower. Even just smelling it leaves that chemical like taste in your mouth. Black Metallic reminds me very much of that, including that odd taste in the mouth.

I may try this again later, as I have found its always best to try things twice. You never know. But I don’t have high expectations.

As soon as I opened the packet, my first thought was, WOW! ameretto! Its really there in the flavor as well. I can detect a little anise, though its not overpowering, just nice and subtle.

Not sure if I can detect any of the other ingredients, but wow, I am liking this tisane. Actually the description mentions flavors of muddled cherries and I can see that as well.

There is a nice subtle sweetness to the flavor that is not a dominating and I think I am enjoying that as well.

This seems perfect to curl up with on a cold night. I’m sure I will be buying more.

Recently picked up some more just in time for our temps to be hovering around freezing.

Oh how I have missed this. It just seems so warm and comforting and perfect for when you’d rather remain curled up at home instead of outside braving the cold.

Picked up a sampler size with my last order. Again, not something I would drink frequently, but once in a while its a nice change.

I’m actually surprised on how roasted this oolong smells. I guess I was expecting something more floral or grassy given how green this is, so I am surprised.

Sadly roasted is a flavor that doesn’t seem to agree with me and I am having a lot of problems discerning any flavors other than roasted.

Its not bad, but I don’t really see myself choosing this over other teas I enjoy more.

I made a mistake of sharing this tin with my coworkers. Its almost gone and this is just my second time trying it.

I’m not a big fan or bergamot, but the addition of orange peel helps tone down the elements I’m not fond it. I’m enjoying the hint of ginger with it all as well.

I am not a fan of the vanilla, especially with citrus. Makes me think of those orange and vanilla ice cream push pops. Yuck! But, its been popular in the office.

I’m not detecting the rose or any floral components.

Without the vanilla, I think it would be one of my staples. With the vanilla, its something I might have one in a while if it were available, but not something I’d go out of my way for.

Hmm the vanilla and the push pop descriptors are making me want to try it!

Big golden leaves that’s so fun to watch steep.

Flavor wise, it has a lot in common with the Golden Snail I got from Whispering Pines. Its mellow and smooth though can get a little astringent as it cools. Not bad, but it is noticeable.

Will consider buying this one again.

Things have been so busy lately that I really haven’t had much of a chance to think much about wrting notes. And i’ve been drinking a whole bunch of new teas.

Anyway, I got the specifically for making cold brews. And this one works well. There is no astrigency that I can really detect brewed this way. (Have not tried it hot yet so I can’t say for that.) And it still has the flavor that I remember from the iced tea my father would make when I was a kid.

Overall I think I really enjoy this and will be restocking when I am out.
