This is a buttery and smooth genmaicha with lots and lots of roasted rice goodness. Really a great genmaicha so thank you Dexter for sharing with me.

Trying this iced and it is actually quite nice. Sweet and clovey and essentially the same as the hot brew.

Finally finished this off with one last iced cup of candy cane deliciousness. So long tasty tea. See you next holiday season :)

Thank you for sharing Sil but this tastes kind of like what I’d imagine strawberry potpourri or strawberry perfume to taste like. Not my favourite but I am always happy when I can try new things. Maybe this may be better iced?

Sil

haha no idea.. the tea seems totally different than what we tried at the toronto tea festival. we really liked it there and even when i tried it, i was like PASS

VariaTEA

Maybe they sweetened it or prepared it in a particular way that highlighted the tasty flavors and hid the bad? Or maybe they had a surplus if this they wanted to get rid of so they served a better tea in order to convince you to buy it :P

Sil

no idea… the first year we did the festival we almost bought this one…then this year we did… oh well, it was relatively cheap lol

I was running errands in the mall today with a friend and though neither of us were interested in either tea of the day, we decided to get tea anyways. She got a Mango Fruit Punch teapop and I got this as a latte. Given I already own this tea, I probably should have tried something new and made this at home but I was curious so I just decided to go with what called to me. Honestly, hot and plain, this was weird but as a hot latte everything comes together to perfectly capture a root beer float. Amazing!

A latte still counts as something new!

VariaTEA

I suppose that is true but I can make a latte at home.

I enjoyed this tea when I initially had it but overtime I have lost interest. Into the GCTTB it goes, where hopefully, it will be enjoyed by others. So long sweet strawberry tea. It was fun while it lasted.

All the fruits in here and I am getting…licorice? A candy licorice but still licorice. Not for me. Nonetheless, thank you Jeweled Thumb for the opportunity to try it.

Thank you Christina for the chance to try this tea but I find myself slightly disappointed as it is like a less vanilla version of Della Terra’s Anti V-Day Treat. Since I like my vanilla, I find this lacking but it was still fun to try. And honestly, it is still a pleasant enough cup.

I remembered enjoying this the first time I got the box so I pulled it out to try again. Second time around, I am less impressed. It tastes like a slightly floral honeybush. Meh. Now I know I am not really missing out. The rating will be dropped for this when I am by a computer because it certainly doesn’t deserve a 75

My cupboard has grown exponentially since joining this site and I have a lot to share. Feel free to snoop through my cupboard and message me if anything interests you – I am always happy to swap!

For me, flavored teas are definitely my sweet spot. I will most often reach for black teas and rooibos or honeybush blends but I do keep some flavored whites and greens around for when the mood strikes. I have a few herbals/tisanes but most of the time I find myself disappointed by them as they often smell deliciously sweet and then end up tasting tart/sour. I have a little bit of an aversion to pu’erh and oolong teas. I am also wary of florals, earl greys, and chai teas. I do not like overpowering citrus flavors nor do I usually like hibiscus, licorice or chamomile. I love dessert teas – caramel, vanilla, toffee, cookie, cream, and other sweet flavors make me smile. Fruits like strawberry, peach, mango, and pineapples will often catch my attention as well.

I have also realized that although I really enjoy adding frothed milk to some of my teas, if I do not like the tea with zero additives (just in plain water without milk or sugar), I probably won’t drink it. The one exception is flavored matchas which I will happily drink in cold milk if I do not like it mixed with hot water. My theory is if the tea can’t stand on its own then it is not for me and I will more than likely try to swap it out for something else.

Tea Ratings Guide (as of December 10, 2017)
90-100 Teas I NEED on hand at all times
80-89 Teas I want to keep around for a cup every now and then
70-79 Teas I am glad I have around and can experiment with but probably don’t need more than what’s in my cupboard
60-69 Teas I would not turn down a cup of from a friend but that would probably be enough
50-59 Teas I can see why someone would enjoy but are not for me
Under 50 Teas I really did not like and most likely got dumped
