6444 Tasting Notes
Thank you Memily for sharing! This tea smells amazing. Alas, there is something a touch off in the taste. I get a bit of chocolate and a fair amount of apple but there is one prominent note that I am not loving yet I can’t quite place it. Weirdly enough, for a tea called “Rose” this isn’t an overly floral tea which is good. All in all its alright but not something I would seek out. However, I think it could be nice iced so I will definitely have to try it that way next.
So this blend is basically 95% cinnamon chips and 5% rooibos and that certainly comes through in flavor. It is one giant cup is sweet cinnamon water. I can see how they approached the concept of a snickerdoodle with this tea though for me, using their recommended steeping parameters, it is a bit of a miss as the whole tea is just a little cloyingly monotonous. Perhaps altering how I brew it may help tone down some sweetness…
Thanks Memily for sharing this with me. It is a pretty solid banana tea. Not something I immediately need to run out and stock but it certainly is nice and has a great banana flavor. I am happy I have much more to this sample so thank you once again.
Alright so I am cheating on my clean eating challenge but I like tea and so I am going to drink it…especially when DAVIDs has a tea-off between two new flavors. I tried both in store and this was certainly the one I preferred of the two since they definitely captured the flavors of poached pear. There is a sweet pear flavor drizzled with cinnamon goodness. It’s a tasty, tasty treat.
More than anything, the smell of this always gets me. It is so amazing and so very comforting – like a warm hug from an old friend. Brewed up, it tastes pretty great too though I think in the future I might drop the steeping temperature just a touch because at 200F, there is a slight bit of astringency which I think is actually coming from the nutmeg and not the base. Nonetheless, this is still a tasty, tasty tea and a great way to say goodbye to my beloved beverage for the next two weeks.
So I forgot to account for the fact that I was using a 16 oz cup instead of 8 oz so this was underleafed and a bit watered down but it’s still delicious. This is sweet and rich and has a lot of depth and definitely captures butterscotch & hazelnut mocha candies. Plus, this smells amazing!
Sil, I am always happy to share :). And Stephanie, I totally agree. I was sad when I saw it was a white tea until I realized it was white rhino because I love that tea.
Want want want :3 Also side note; I get paid in two days… Are there any places I should check out for possible tea orders? My cupboard is at a really well maintained number right now so orders are a thing that could totally happen.
