Thank you Roswell Strange for sending this my way to aid in my adventure to try all the genmaichas. This one is good but not particularly a blend that stands out. There is nothing unique about it. It is fairly balanced between the vegetal base and the toasty rice, though at times the grass notes are more prominent. Nothing special but still very pleasant so thanks again, Roswell Strange :)

Thank you Amariel for the chance to try this tea. My second cup is an improvement but I am still not sad to see this go. However, this cup is less base and a bit more vanilla flavor. There is also a nutty quality to the tea. Alas, banana is still lacking and for that reason, I won’t miss this now that it’s gone. I am happy I got to try it though :)
This is THE chocolate mint tea. Seriously, if you want chocolate mint, nothing quite compares. It is minty but not in a harsh way with creamy milk chocolate and fluffy marshmallow leaf to lighten everything up. Truly amazing!
Ok, ok.. It’s on my list to order when I place a Butiki order. :). I Love mint & chocolate, but so many good sounding Butiki blends it will be hard to choose.
I figured this would be a black tea but it’s not. That’s fantastic! It’s going on my wish list!
Nope. It is a caffeine-free herbal and better than the black tea versions I have tried.
This is a weird one. I am getting honey and nutty notes and even elements that lend themselves to the flavor of biscotti and yet as a whole, I am just not loving it. Perhaps Sil or Roswell Strange will be able to figure this out because to me something is off and I am just not sure what.
Alright so I think my initial excitement about a new tea stopped me from picking up on the rooibos in the first cup. Now that the excitement has passed, I am detecting rooibos but it is subtle and the pear flavor is still the most dominant taste in the cup. It is like a hot cup of pear jelly bellies. Delicious :)
Haha! All I can do is cringe at the description of “a hot cup of pear jelly bellies.”
Alright maybe not the most appealing description but as a child I loved pear jelly bellies and this is reminiscent of that flavor
:D I’m sure it would be great it people liked ripe pear, but I only like them when they’re crunchy and almost-sour. :)

Usually I am not a fan of citrus flavors in tea but between Roswell Strange’s reviews and the deliciousness of Fauchon’s L’Hiver, I decided to give this a try. Consequently, when the amazing NayLynn asked if I wanted anything else from Harney’s aside from the oz of Soba Cha she offered to send my way, I took her up on her offer and got a sample of this. Sipping on it now, I am super happy that I did and I am extremely delighted that the sample is rather large because this tea is really good. It is like a slice of lemon cake, emphasis on the lemon, with a touch of vanilla sugar glaze to add a nice dose of creamy sweetness to the cup. Definitely a nice treat. So, thank you Roswell Strange for peaking my interest and thank you NayLynn for ever so graciously facilitating my order. You guys are AMAZING!!
I had half a banana left over from the first smoothie so I made a second. I decided to use this matcha (1) because I am trying to use it up and (2) because I wanted to compare this to Creme Brulee and see if I could taste anything different between the two. Unfortunately, I got nothing from either matcha, except for a bit of bitterness at the end of the sip that could either be the result of the matcha, the frozen strawberries, or the underripe banana. However, the good news is that each smoothie uses a whole tsp of matcha which means I have just enough left of both Creme Brulee and English Toffee for one more smoothie.
