36 Tasting Notes
This was a tad too fruity for me, even though I like my blacks fruity. How’s that possible? It was too tart/bitter not to add sweetener, but then when I did, it’s like sweetener “didn’t go” with it. Made it taste funny. I will try this again but perhaps steep it less and maybe try agave with it instead of sugar or honey.
I had no idea I could find a tea that I liked better than my Twinings Earl Grey. This tea has very similar properties: mild but full of flavor, and not ever bitter – no matter if oversteeped. I don’t add milk to my tea, so I couldn’t imagine having a ‘creamy’ flavor of my Earl Grey. Lo and behold – the addition of the blue cornflowers gave it that extra special something that elevated my Earl Grey experience to a whole new level. I was surprised! And delighted! I ran out to buy a tin for home and a sachet pack for work. YUM!
I love my peach flavors in tea, but alone I think it’s just a ‘like’. This is a very tasty fruit tea, but I think I’d go for the Mango Fruit Punch if I really wanted a similar tasting tea, but with much more flavor. Either way, this is still really good tea. I bought a bunch 40% off.
I bought a huge amount of this tea during the 40% off summer sale. It’s not my favorite brewed hot, but it’s still good. The balance of flavors seems off a bit. I am thinking I can brew it longer and then add more sweetener to help balance things a bit more. I am hoping I enjoy it more iced. I can always gift some I guess…
OMG…did I just find a Rooibos that I really, really enjoyed!? Better still, did I just find a magical ingredient that took that nasty rooty/smoky aftertaste that I usually get from drinking a Rooibos?! I think I did!!!! Vanilla!!! I don’t want to get too excited till I drink more, but I am very happy with my discovery and I may just buy a tin of this magic potion!
I am not a huge herbal tea lover, but the gal at David’s Tea recommended this one for me since I love peach and apricot flavors, and expressed a need to have more of a variety of tea to drink at night. I thought it was above average for most herbals I’ve tried, but it didn’t wow me. I did sleep well, though, so wondering if the valerian had anything to do with that?!
I love flavored blacks, and aside from some grocery store bought teas that are rather tasty, this is the best black that I’ve been able to find. It surprised me that I liked pear flavor! I didn’t think I would. This is the tea I drink when I want to be ultra soothed, and can handle the caffeine – even though the caffeine is supposed to be low on this one.
