I visited Shaktea while on a trip to Vancouver several months ago, after seeing it on here and making a point to stop by. I’m very glad that I did! It’s a lovely little place with a good selection of teas. My favourite by far that I took home was the coconut cream chai, of which I have actually just ordered more off the website after craving it constantly. I would love to stop by again next time I’m in Vancouver to try some different blends as well as some of the food items there are to offer!

This is a lovely little shop in downtown Kelowna! Despite being tiny, the store actually has quite nice selection of teas. I enjoy the geisha green, ice wine, and starry night teas, among others. The staff is always very friendly and courteous and overall the store has a very relaxed feel. Definitely worth a visit!

Abby’s is a great little local store with a nice assortment of loose leaf teas! Some of my favourites are her ambrosia white tea, blueberry white tea, lychee black tea, green apple green tea, and rooibos apple crisp. She always shows great hospitality and usually has a tea sample or two out as well. I highly recommend checking this store out! It’s a hidden gem :)

I have tried a couple teas from Teavana – the Spice of Life White Tea, Youthberry White Tea, and Raspberry Riot Mate. I was very excited at first, but immediately noticed upon opening the bags that they were comprised of a lot of massive fruit chunks, spice bits, and not a whole lot of actual tea leaves.

Once I’d tasted them, I was even more disappointed with the artificial flavouring that left a chemical aftertaste in my mouth. I can’t speak for their plain teas, but it would seem that their flavoured teas are a lot more like Koolaid or flavoured water than real tea – and for the price paid for the amount of tea, it is definitely not worth it. If you’re a beginner to loose tea, I suggest going to a locally owned store instead and finding some more reasonably priced teas that are actually comprised of tea leaves, and not just a potpourri of add-ins.
