1113 Tasting Notes
I oversteeped this one today, oops! It happens sometimes, when I try to make tea at work and then get distracted with work stuff. Anyway oversteeping didn’t damage it too badly. It is very strong but not bitter. I love this creamy tea. Super soothing on a chilly day!
This is my third time trying a matcha. The first time I had just a basic matcha and prepared it in the traditional way and I did NOT like it. The 2nd time I had white chocolate matcha from Red Leaf and made a hot latte and thought it was pretty tasty. This time I had pumpkin pie matcha and made it into an iced latte using the cocktail shaker method. I like how easy it was to prepare this way and the flavored matcha with ice and sugar and milk was very good! Honestly though, you could add a bunch of milk and sugar to pretty much anything and it would taste good to me, LOL. I’m not sure if its the matcha I like or just the pumpkin flavoring here. shrug
This tea is exactly what I expected and wanted out of it. Buttery, cakey and slightly pineappley. Tasty dessert tea goodness! I was a little worried by the dry smell…it reminded me of fake maple flavoring. But once steeped this one did not disappoint! Recommended :)
Also interesting- I like sugar in most of my teas but Japanese greens I like all by themselves! Genmaicha, Houji-cha and now Sencha, too!
2nd steep was equally delicious :D
I’m finding the same thing sugar wise with those greens! It’s strange, but I’m enjoying it!
