Had this as a latte with rice milk for the sipdown. Lovely. Boosting the rating a couple points as this matcha grew even more on me as I figured out my matcha-liquid ratios. I think I may prefer rice milk to skim or almond. Will likely be buying this again, but I’m going to try the Madagascar Vanilla first as a comparison.

Smells strongly of raspberry, and has a good amount of the flavor too. The chocolate note is very subtle, and I’d like more of it but I’m also a big chocolate lover. Creamy as a latte, not too sweet, and still has that matcha taste after the initial hit of raspberry.

Royal grade matcha, distinctive flavoring. 2 chasaku scoops sifted and mixed with about 2oz of 175F water, then 8oz of warm original rice milk added to make it a latte. Loving the addition of rice milk more than the unsweetened almond milk I was using.

Lovely pineapple flavor, bit of sweetness, bit of flowers. It’s very light with the tiniest bit of a drying feel at the end but not in a bad way. No bitterness. But, I’m not “wowed” by this. I think I’m just not an oolong person. However, I would recommend it on the pineapple flavor alone.

Sample size, 8oz 175F water.

Decided to give this a try after reading the reviews. I’ll admit, the website is a huge turnoff for me. It looks gimmicky and plays up matcha as a big health fad; just rubs me the wrong way.

Even though I froze my container for storage while I finished off the DoMatcha, this frothed up beautifully. It has a slightly heavier mouthfeel than DoMatcha, a stronger vegetal taste with mild sweetness, but it also had more of a bitter taste mid-late sip. The bitterness increases as the cup cools.

Two chasaku scoops sifted into a chawan, added about 2oz of 175F water to mix, then added another 6oz of water and whisked.

1 tsp 8 OZ / 236 ML

Finished this up yesterday. The more I drink matcha the more I fine tune my preferences. I still prefer flavored matcha as a latte, but the unflavored I actually like better straight. This one grew on me so I’m bumping the rating a few points more.

Got this as a sample in my ATR order. Not bad, not spectacular. It smells delicious dry as the fruit hits you. To taste, it’s sweet and has a bit of tartness that doesn’t quite come through, which is fine for me because I’m not fond of tart teas. The fruit flavor doesn’t come across as strongly to taste as it did to smell. Not getting a lot of “tea” taste but rather sweet/fruity with a delicate ghost of a vegetal note.

Having this again out of my sample. First steep was 2.5min, 1 tsp to 16oz 175F water. Definitely a more mineral taste. Second steep was 3min. Sweeter, less mineral, but I’m just absent-mindedly sipping it and not getting any “ooh this is nice tea” feelings. Glad I only ordered a sample. I also don’t get any creamy/milkiness in the sip.

Had this again as a latte using two chasaku scoops to 8oz of ~150F skim milk. Not a fan. Hard to describe what I think this tastes like, but it’s not remotely in the chocolate-cocoa area of my taste buds. Has a weird taste to it. I think I prefer the chemically flower taste of the Belgium chocolate to this.

Received a sample of this in my last RLT order, so I’m guessing its specs are basic grade matcha and delicate flavoring.

Two chasaku scoops to 8oz ~145F 8oz of unsweetened almond milk. The aroma of the caramel is so sweet and powerful right out of the bag, but in a good way. If you don’t like caramel then smell-wise this isn’t for you! To taste I only get a hint of the caramel before the milk-matcha aspects come into play. It has a sweet taste, but I am getting a bit of bitterness towards the end of the sip. Will probably order this but in distinctive flavoring and will bump up to royal grade matcha.

Had this as a latte this morning: 2.5 chasaku scoops sifted, enough 175F water to make paste, then added ~8oz of 150F skim milk. This was a sample so I’m guessing it’s basic grade matcha and delicate flavoring.

Reserving rating until I get another tasting, but this was neither over nor under whelming. More or less just tasted like a matcha latte. Creamy, vegetal matcha taste, didn’t get any bitterness, but also didn’t really get anything like carob either.

After getting sick for the third time within about a three-month period I decided to try and drown it out with tea. I never liked tea growing up, but in my early twenties my taste buds had finally changed enough to find the flavors.

Started with flavored blacks from Teavana (gasp), and now am primarily a white/green tea drinker. I’ve recently fallen in love with matcha.

I love teapots, tea cups, and tea sets, but mainly use my Timolino or Contigo travel mugs because they’re leak-proof and hold the heat for so long! Drinking a cup of tea before it gets cold usually doesn’t happen as I set it down and get distracted with something else only to return to it when it’s (if I’m lucky) lukewarm.
