Having as a cold latte today. Two chasaku scoops dissolved in 175F water, added 8oz of cold light soy milk and shook it like a madwoman.

I’m unsure about this kind of preparation. The matcha taste is dimmed down by the coldness of the milk, but the raspberry is almost amplified. Interesting.

Having this with about 8oz light soy milk. I’m getting a bit more of the cheesecake flavor, still very flavorful. Bumping the rating a little. Has a nice sweetness and the matcha base in the background.

2 chasaku scoops, enough 175F water to dissolve, then added ~8oz light vanilla soy milk.

Still not preferred over DoMatcha, but I’m boosting the rating a little as I haven’t had as bitter an experience as the first time I made this. Been having it in the mornings prepared with the chasen in a chawan, just water and no additions. It’s a little more vegetal/spinachy tasting than the DoMatcha. Froths up like a champ.

Hmm. Don’t really get a cheesecake taste, but it’s nicely creamy. Sweet matcha taste with a creamy background.

Royal grade, distinctive flavoring. 1 tsp matcha to 16oz nonfat milk.

The Whovian geek in me wanted to love this tea so much. It’s not bad and I do recommend it, but I’m not compelled to buy more. I get mostly the black tea taste, some caramel, a little bit of coconut (smell it more than I taste it), and nice sweetness. It’s a little drying on the tongue. Smells divine dry, taste for me didn’t quite follow through on the steep. I prefer it with a touch of creamer and sugar.

Oh the raspberry. Strong raspberry smell and taste, not really getting any chocolate. Added some creamer for a little body and creamy mouthfeel. Has a little bit of tang at the end mixed with the sweetness. Also getting a little bit of drying/coated feeling on my tongue. Doesn’t taste bad, but does feel a bit off. A nice tea though, and I’m dragging a bit today so the caffeine kick is needed.

I added a little too much creamer so I’m reserving the rating on this one. Has more of the black tea taste than Three Friends did for me, but not to the point of being too…tea-y. Has a subtle sweetness, creaminess, and I’m getting just a hint of the coconut around the edges.

The floral and hay smell is wonderful in this tea. It’s light, a little sweet, and clean without any bitterness or astringency. A nice white.

The recommended leaf amount and steeping time seemed a bit excessive, so I sort of eyeballed the amount and steeped for 3 minutes.

Having this with a teaspoon of hot chocolate mix and coconut milk. Interesting. Definitely still get the raspberry, but the chocolate overpowers the matcha. This isn’t my favorite hot chocolate mix so I may try it again with something different. Also not sure how much I’m liking the coconut milk.

Got a sample of this with my latest Butiki order. I’ve been turned off of black teas lately so this was a nice surprise. Had with a little bit of creamer, no added sugar. The orange is the most prominent note, but there’s a creaminess from the marshmallow and a subtle bit of chocolate in the smell and around the edges of the orange flavor.

After getting sick for the third time within about a three-month period I decided to try and drown it out with tea. I never liked tea growing up, but in my early twenties my taste buds had finally changed enough to find the flavors.

Started with flavored blacks from Teavana (gasp), and now am primarily a white/green tea drinker. I’ve recently fallen in love with matcha.

I love teapots, tea cups, and tea sets, but mainly use my Timolino or Contigo travel mugs because they’re leak-proof and hold the heat for so long! Drinking a cup of tea before it gets cold usually doesn’t happen as I set it down and get distracted with something else only to return to it when it’s (if I’m lucky) lukewarm.
