This tea is always so clean and crisp. I’m really not sure how else to describe it. It’s quite light as far as oolongs go, but I love it for that. It still has the depth and body of a traditional oolong, but is a bit lighter taste wise.

I think my favorite aspect of this tea is the aftertaste when I’m drinking it iced. The initial sip hits the tip of the tongue, but the aftertaste plays with the whole body of the tongue; starting in the back and bouncing back and forth before it settles on the front again. My whole mouth is filled with that uniquely oolong flavor and I smile.

Steeping note: I brewed this tea at double strength because I was pouring it over ice.

I’m going to hold off on recommending this tea purely because I’m sure there are oolongs just as good or better out there that are more affordable.

ETA: Second steep just as good as the first <3 And I love how much the leaves expand.

I’m thankful moraiwe not only reminded me of this tea last night, but also told me how nice it would be as a latte.

This morning, first thing, I pulled out the soy milk, watered it down slightly, added exactly one drop of honey, simmered, and tossed a tsp of tea in. Thank you, thank you, for this suggestion ladyfriend because it smelled absolutely gorgeous the entirety of its steeping time.

The result was like breakfast in a cup. Bready and yeasty and walnutty with hints of pecan. The last sip was pure yeast and pecan with a hint of walnut.

A great tea to be sure, but heavy…not something I could drink all the time.

I’m mentally categorizing this one as another morning cuppa.

Finishing up my second steep of this and felt like it needed a separate review. I can already tell each steep will be quite unique and I’m excited.

Unfortunately for this steep in particular, I let it sit to cool and forgot about it for 2+ hours.

It’s still tasty though. The same notes (earth, compost, rice) are present though it’s more compost and less rice. In addition, while steeping or cooling, it seems to have picked up an edge of smokiness.

Delightful cup. Looking forward to the third steep.

Thanks to moraiwe I had a small sample of this and finally got around to tasting it.

In fact, I started the day out right all around. Drew a warm bath for myself that I enhanced with green tea and then relaxed in the bath while sipping my pu-erh. Ahhh~ ♥

I once described pu-erh as “compost in the best possible way” and this cup reminds me why. It is wonderfully robust and earthy with the flavor of rice lightly intermingling through the cup – especially in the aftertaste, which is made lighter/less bitter because of it.

This is an amazing morning cup for me not only because of its “wake me up with the smell and taste of nature” properties, which make me a happy witch, but also because of the rice. I’m on a thyroid medication that prevents me from eating for an hour after I wake up. With this tea I can have my rice and drink it too ;)

Will definitely resteep throughout the day.

(Thanks also to Auggy, whose review I referenced when preparing this tea!)

Sipdown!

Cold steeped the last 5 ish teaspoons I had of this and said goodbye to my first mate purchase.

It was probably not my best idea to drink this right after brushing my teeth, but ehhh

Cold steeping for 8 hours heightened the raspberry and brought out more citrus from the lemon, but enhanced the flavor of the mate as well. If I end up getting this again someday I’ll tweak the time and see if that helps.

Brews up an absolutely gorgeous color and made for a nice morning sip.

Truly a delightful tea, as evident by the name. I’m a sucker for light to medium bodied greens with a touch of toasty flavor (Oh, genmaicha, I’ll never quit you), so Dasher’s Delight seemed like a good fit.

And it is.

I think what I love best about this tea is that, as a green tea drinker, I can detect subtle notes from the actual green tea amoungst the nutty flavors. On the flip side, my mother, who usually abhors green tea, is able to drink this tea and give it a thumbs up because what she usually describes as tasting like vaseline is coated in nutty goodness.

This is a green tea for anyone who sometimes feels like a nut ;)

Flavor notes (since they wouldn’t save under flavors): walnut, almond, cashew, slight vegetation

Backlog from yesterday. I’m not giving this one a rating until I tweak my steeping method.

I could see how this tea gets the name “buttered rum” as it is evident an attempt was made to make the tea taste like that. The main flavor present, however, is coconut.

There’s nothing wrong with that as I love coconut, but this isn’t so much a buttered rum as a hot coconut milk with buttered rum aspects.

All this being said, I do plan to experiment with this tea. Both in the form of steeping and additives.

My normal steeping parameters for DAVIDs black teas are 1.5-2 tsp for about 5 minutes at 210. It won’t get astringent or bitter and you’ll get a fuller flavor.

Thank you! I was noticing that from other reviews as well. I’m still stepping out of Teavana instructions mode .-.

Been feeling cruddy today (yay migraines) so decided to make myself something special.

I took out my twelve oz mug and steeped about 1.5 tsp of this in just enough water to cover the leaves. Then I mixed up organic soy milk with my chocolate syrup, heated that up, and poured that into the tea. After a few experimental sips I added the tiniest bit of thin mint creamer. Delightful.

I made my mom taste this and she didn’t even realize there was tea or soy in it, so I think it was a major success.

I was afraid to taste this tea because when I went to pour boiling water over the bag I was assaulted with the scent of artificial sweetness.

“The truth must prevail!” I told myself and did my best to ignore the smell and take a sip. And then another to be sure I was judging the taste and not just burning my tongue.

It pretty much tastes like…..black tea with artificial sweeteners .-. I don’t know if it’s because of the diabetes, but the fake sweetness dominates and just ruins the tea for me.

Sadness :< I really wanted to like this one.

Ladyfriend gifted a bit of this to me since I’m a spiced tea lover :)

I’m glad she did as this is an interesting sip. I went a little heavy on the leaf, as per her suggestion, and feel that’s another valid choice. I can see how this may be a little underwhelming otherwise.

The main flavor is definitely the cinnamon, which is both enhanced and defined by the coconut and chocolate notes. Thanks to the fruity sweetness these provide, the tea is very cider like. The pseudo cider meant I didn’t need any cream, which is usually present in my black teas, so there’s that too.

This isn’t the tastiest tea I’ve tried but it’s nice as a caffeinated cider so it’s appreciated as a cold morning cuppa (like today – it’s bitter out).

I doubt I’ll purchase it in the future but I’m stoked I got to try it :)
