Happy Canadian Thanksgiving!! I had an excellent weekend with the family, up at the cabin for turkey dinner last night and fishing today :) perfect weekend! I hope other Steepsterites that celebrated this weekend also had a lovely time with great people and great food!

I had a few other teas, notably the lovely Special Dark for my stomach after overeating last night lol, but I will write a review for it at a later time lol. In the meantime, I am having the 2014 version of this tea tonight as I unwind and prepare for the ridiculously busy work week ahead lol.

This years Pumpkin Chai is much similar to last years, maybe a bit more cinnamon and a bit stronger caramel flavor to me. Overall, it’s delicious as usual, but I still might like Pumpkin Patch a bit better for its stronger spice profile. This one still is comforting and cozy though, so I will probably restock a tiny bit to tide me over until next year. See previous notes on this tea :)

Second cup of the day! My head is feeling much better, so time to do some cleaning then off to my parents for the Thanksgiving weekend! This was my caffeine free cup of choice, as I like alternating caffeine with non so I don’t get too jittery lol. It’s sweet and very appley today, and again fits the autumnal feel of the day -sunny, bright outside, bright colors, the birds are all over the bird feeders, the cat is happy…life is good. Almost lunch time, after some more cleaning! See previous notes on this tea, oh I might have to restock this soon, it has a familiar and cozy feel to it that I really like!

Good morning Steepster!! It’s the long weekend here in Canada and our Thanksgiving, so I am looking forward to an amazing turkey dinner on Monday and not working for a glorious 3 days! With the insane hours and stress of this past week, this could not come at a better time. Busy times!

So now I can get back to logging notes. I also binged and placed a large Verdant order last night for some of those new pu’erhs! But enough about me, this tea! I needed this this morning, it is quite a strong tea usually for me so I don’t have it as often as I should, as caffeine sometimes messes with me. But I have a headache this morning so I wanted a strong caffeinated tea, but not as much honey flavor today. This is just the right amount of sweet in it, mostly just malty and sweet potatoey, very appropriate for the Thanksgiving weekend! Hope everyone enjoys their Saturday! Work is kicking my butt this week lol, so much to do! I’m tired and hoping it all gets done, blahhhh…needed this comforting gem of a tea tonight. It’s also such a mood booster with all the citrus flavor, only one comparable for a mood boost for me is the Earl of Anxi with it’s citrus and bright oolong flavors. Ahh but this one is hitting the spot. Lungs are acting up again tonight, so the caffeine in this is helping a bit (as will the allergy pill I took as well haha). Thank goodness for amazing teas on long days. See previous notes on this amazing one.

ETA – Lol, I love when previous tea notes reflect similarities to the current note..just read my first note on this and I had it after working overtime at work a while back in June haha, and I worked overtime today and it’s crazy…must associate this tea with busy times or something. A tried and proven remedy to stress maybe? :D

Ugh ugh ugh..I have been in warp speed mode at work for the past few days, starting last Wednesday..had an excellent weekend and now back at work. But had my painting class tonight and it went better so that’s a plus, helps me take my mind off all the things I am trying to figure out at work lol (at least not people problems, just ones relevant to projects haha).

This tea was calling my name tonight. Yes it is late, and yes it’s a black tea, but I needed a cozy cup of goodness with some warm spicing tonight. It’s starting to rain outside, so it feels like a nice autumn evening for this one. Oh, the bf also went back to work for 14 days up north, so that always makes my day a little less bright too. Hence the need for good, comforting tea. This is the perfect choice right now. See previous notes!

Mmmm this is totally hitting the spot at work! Smooth, creamy flavor, and I only added a bit of sugar today! I am really liking this tea, it reminds me a bit of fresh bread/scones with butter for breakfast. Malty, bready, a bit creamy..just yum. Happy Monday! See previous notes on this tea :)

I went to my local tea store yesterday to pick up a bunch of teas for my boyfriend, he loves their Tall Mountain Oolong and he tried a second flush darjeeling and quite enjoyed it, so yesterday he stocked up on Tall Mountain and is trying a first flush darj and also picked up some heavenly smelling jasmine pearls. I have yet to try the latter two. I have been curious about breakfast blends, but I usually am terrible with strongly caffeinated teas and milk lol, but I decided to pick up this one to try an EB but without the caffeine! Also picked up some Lord Grey, an amazing cream of EG blend which I will review later.

The dry smell of this is actually a bit fruity lol, whether from contamination or it just is like that, I’m not sure, as it’s my first English Breakfast Blend. I steeped it for roughly 3 minutes, and the liquor is dark and smells like a lovely black tea.

As for the flavor without milk and sugar added, this is a nice and hearty tasting black tea for being decaf! It has some floral characteristics along with some fruit to me, and it tastes full and warming. I will now add a bit of milk and some sugar for the full English Breakfast experience.

Mmm, with the milk and sugar this smooths right out into a lovely full tasting black tea. It’s just so cozy and rich. I am quite enjoying this – a much different flavor than my usual array of Chinese black teas, with all their sweet potato and honey notes. This also has a sweet note, but it’s a more creamy sweet note, and I really like it.

Overall, this is quite delicious. Now that I know English Breakfast (at least in decaf form) isn’t too scary, I might eventually bite the bullet and try a full English breakfast tea. Or a Scottish Breakfast, they said that one is a bit lighter, haha this is out of my usual comfort zone so I will need to read up on these types of tea! Unfortunately my local store sells teas by a minimum of 50g, so it is tough to commit to a blend unless I really love it, as I have found out in the past (I have teas kicking around over a year old due to the large quantity you buy). But so far, I really like this and will enjoy it more as the weather gets cooler :)

The second new pumpkin-y tea from DavidsTea that I got last week! This one is a huge improvement over Pumpkin Cheesecake lol. Unfortunately I am at work so I can’t write an overly detailed note, as I made this in my travel mug, but I have had 2 or 3 cups at home prior to this since I got it lol, so that sums up how it is.

I remember this smelling so caramelly and mapley I thought it was contaminated by Pumpkin Cheesecake at first. But turns out this tea really is a lovely sweet maple tea, with a fair amount of spice balancing out the sweetness. The base holds its own much better than an rooibos would. To be honest, I don’t find this overly spicy, but then again, I drink Super Ginger frequently and it doesn’t bother me either lol, so I think spices in tea don’t really get to me that much. This tea, however, has a really nice spice note mixing with the sweetness. I don’t get a whole lot of pumpkin….that is my only complaint, maybe I don’t know what pumpkin really and truly tastes like in a tea? But I haven’t really found a tea that tastes overly pumpkin like I guess lol…so I’m not sure. I guess this is probably the closest, this or Pumpkin Chai by DavidsTea or Grandma’s Pumpkin Pie by Della Terra lol. This one definitely has pumpkin spice though!

Overall, I have been quite enjoying this tea. I need to have a cup of Pumpkin Chai later to determine which is my favorite. But so far, this is quite delicious!

Flavors: Caramel, Maple, Spices

I’m with you on the pumpkin confusion. I don’t know what a pumpkin flavouring itself, without any spices, is supposed to taste like. Maybe it has more to do with achieving that perfect balance of pumpkin pie spices than the squash itself?

This is a much better cup than that pumpkin concoction I tried earlier lol. Soft, fresh, soothing. ..I need this right now. Bad days call for good tea. Hopefully I can relax and drift off to sleep after some yoga and this tea. See previous notes!

Hello all, I am an electrical engineer (read:NERD :D), who is a bit obsessed with tea! I discovered loose tea in 2011, DAVIDsTEA in 2012 and it took off from there. I really started drinking/enjoying tea because it was excellent to take to class in the morning and because I can’t handle coffee! (unless it’s a really good cappuccino or latte, or decent decaf haha)

I enjoy a variety of teas – current favorites being ripe and raw pu’erhs, chinese black teas and herbal/green rooibos blends. I also enjoy white, green, and oolong teas, although I tend to drink them more in the warmer months. I have also tried matcha and guayusa, but I don’t drink them too often as I am a bit sensitive to caffeine. As a result I don’t drink black teas as often as I used to, but in moderation I can still enjoy a wide variety of teas.

Oh, and I have a severe peanut allergy and try to avoid most other nuts, just to be safe. Limits my tea choices a bit, but that’s ok. However I have tried almonds and found out I can eat them, so I have been trying a few teas with them in them.
