1186 Tasting Notes
Haha i didn’t know if I should log this under its original name or this one. Picked this one as it showed up in my steepster feed yesterday :p, although I purchased it back when it was vanilla pineapple white (and neglected to log, my bad!)
This tea smells so sweet and yummy! It vaguely reminds me of a sugary breakfast cereal, but I think that the vanilla and pineapple mixing. It smells delicious though, and makes me want to gobble it up! I steeped the full three minutes this time. Oh, and the leaves are soo pretty and delicate! I love how they unfurl, I showed these leaves to my mom back when I first had this tea at her place and she thought they looked so nice!
The wet leaves smell just as delicious! I can pick out the ingredients a bit better though, separate the pineapple and vanilla, and the green tea is underlying the sweetness. Lots of vanilla though, a very tasty vanilla smell. Mmmmm so happy I’m having this in the morning!
The flavor is so nommy, vanilla with a slightly pineapple aftertaste. I definitely can taste the green tea in here, but it is tempered by the white to keep the cup pretty light. I might try a bit shorter steeping to see if it can be even lighter and fluffier. Also would like maybe a wee bit more of the peppercorns, they are present in a slight warming sensation, but not quite as strong as in Mayan Mist (which is probably a good thing actually, this tea is much more delicate than that one).
Overall, this tea is pretty darn delicious. For being a green and white blend, it is still very delicate and delicious. I feel like I should be having a pastry with this, or small sandwiches :). This might end up being a re-purchase as it’s really enjoyable. Very good white tea from Della Terra! Recommend this!
Preparation
Ah super late tasting note! Today was crazy, class, then job interview, then taking my friend to davidstea for the first time :D i actually managed to not buy anything while there! She picked up a few teas, this being the one we tried when we arrived back at my place.
The smell is super peachy. A bit of floral, but mostly peach, with a bit of melon. Wet leaf was also very fruity.. Hmm, I was hoping a bit more floral to be honest, but the leaves look pretty! They unfolded enormously, and the pretty flowers are floating about. Very magical :)
Taste – wowza, i got tons of melon and peach!! I could have sworn this was a fruit tea! A slight bitterness near the end of sips, black teas doing I suppose. I would have liked a bit less of that fruit flavoring and a bit more floral once again, definitely more Jasmine! I love Jasmine haha.
Overall, a surprisingly tasty tea, but maybe not quite the flavor I was wanting (expecting?) however, I might pick up a sample of this the next time I’m at Davids to play with temperatures and things.
Yay for introducing my friend to buying loose leaf though! She really enjoyed this tea, which I am super pleased about :)
Preparation
I’ve introduced a few friends to loose leaf, so far, and it’s a wonderful feeling. Congrats to you and welcome to your friend. :D
I’m so happy she finally bought some! She has been drinking DavidsTea Silver Needle White Tea at my place whenever she comes over for the past month, and she finally asked me to take her tea shopping. Such an awesome feeling! She always laughs at my tea buying, I told her it may have begun for her now! Haha :)
Needed this tonight so I can actually sleep, I had a 2 hr nap this afternoon so I’m not tired at all! So excited, placed my Black Friday tea orders with Verdant and Della Terras. Eeeee now just have to wait for my teas ugh I hate waiting but it will be so worth it!
Drinking this to help me decide if I should add it to my (rather massive) shopping list of teas for tonight! This is the first time I’ve done Black Friday, and I don’t care for Boxing day here in Canada, so I don’t know what to expect! Also, trying shorter steep time with a brew basket for this and less water – I don’t know how it has turned out yet, still too hot to drink! Also rinsed it twice so as to slightly mimic the Gongfu brewing style. Hoping my experiment pans out, if not, well I still have enough left for one cup (and maybe more on the way).
ETA: First steep is delicious, so far the different method is a success! (~12 second steep, will increase by 5 seconds for subsequent)
ETA again: I taste the brown sugar!!! YAY I am so happy right now! This tea might just have to be re-ordered…
Preparation
Another mint tea for me today. I’ve been meaning to try this, it’s the last one in my try me pack that I haven’t gotten to! That reminds me, I’ll have to write a note for the vanilla pineapple white one, haven’t yet and I had it quite a while ago! Anyways, onto this tea. I steeped for around 2 mins, with water approx 165 degrees F.
This tea smells strongly of peppermint, can’t really get any other smell from it but that. The wet leaves are more interesting, I am definitely getting the green tea with a hint of floral, and the mint is much more muted.
So now for taste, there is a very nice and mild green tea flavor in here. I get a bit of a grassy taste from it, quite enjoyable. The mint is in the forefront, but it is much more toned down than the smell. The jasmine adds a sort of depth to the tea, it’s at the beginning too, but lighter by a tiny bit than the mint, it builds as the sip continues. A bit of sweetness seems to be surfacing too, as I continue this cup, or maybe as it cools? The flavors meld together quite nicely!
Overall, this is an interesting tea. I like it! It’s very calming, one of the more calming flavored greens I have found. I perhaps would like a bit more jasmine, but then I don’t know, it might taste too much like a pure jasmine tea. Currently the flavors are pretty good! I will have to try further cups of this before making a full decision on what I think of it though, it’s very interesting, and I enjoy interesting teas :)

Put this in my timolino today, hoping to ward off any cold bugs! A member in my group project was coughing and sick yesterday, so time to be proactive! Also, I find minty teas do ok in my travel mug. See previous notes on this tea.
