This tea is a special one that I only have occasionally. Drank some tonight for a lift and because I was feeling a change in my tea patterns. Wonderful and exotic flavor.

Working through the second half of the first two cup pot I’m not as sure about my feelings for this tea as I was when I began. When the tea first hits the tongue it does have a slightly heavy tone on the sides of the tongue, which is something that always characterized Bigelow’s Orange Spice for me, as well as something that I didn’t particularly care for in that tea. I’m glad this tea only releases tart notes on the back of the tongue, because tartness upon the drink first entering the mouth would have turned me off almost immediately. One bonus is that this tea has quite the pleasant aftertaste…

I brewed this in a small pot, so that I could taste it at intervals through the steeping…
The recommended five minute brew-time in an 8 oz mug with boiling water is absolute ridiculousness, as this tea gets strong fast. It was brewed quite strong two minutes in in a 16 oz pot with nearly-boiling water.
Upon tasting this tea, it’s slightly reminiscent of the Orange Spice tea by Bigelow, albeit much, much better. It has an almost-Orange Starburst taste, minus the sour flavour. All around a decent-tasting tea, but not something I would drink daily.

Forgot to log this last night. While I only had one cup, I brewed up two full pots to put in a jar to make iced tea. It makes for a good cold tea and is quite refreshing. An interesting experiment I tried a while back was crushing up a mint Altoid and mixing it into a bottle of this iced tea. It gives it a bit of a kick.

Will gladly talk all day about tea.”

The above was my bio when I joined five years ago, and I felt it needed to be updated. I still love pu’erh, though I have begun to take preference toward cooked, shou. Oolongs are certainly still a go-to tea for me, but I have expanded my horizons to begin including greens and blacks based upon the weather and how I am feeling.

Still more than glad to talk about tea – anytime, anywhere, anyplace.
Additionally, if fountain pens, books, music, or computers are on the discussion list…

My ratings, this “personal enjoyment scale” about which I talk, are just that – based on how much I enjoyed the tea. I might have enjoyed it immensely, yet do not keep it stocked for various reasons. On the flip side, I have a few teas that are “good” but not “great,” which I keep stocked for various reasons.
