762 Tasting Notes
I had this one before bed lsat night. The teabag was convenient, and the tea was nice. I really like a good peppermnt herbal tea. I’m not sure how this one stacks up to other mint teas. This one is nice because of the individually wrapped bags which make it easy to carry in your purse or keep in your work desk. As far as I can tell the flavor is good. It doesn’t stand out as a fantastic cup, but neither do I have any complaints. For a bagged tea this one is pretty nice.
It’s been quite a while since I had this tea. This morning I wanted something easy and reliable, and since I can’t taste yet anyway, I didn’t want to waste my nummiest teas. I think I gave it a 97 rating because it’s easy and reliable. I’m not sure that it really deserves it, so I’m lowering it to 90. Which is still darned high, but this tea really IS easy and reliable. There’s a reason this is one of my favorite bagged teas. Smooth, mild and comfortable. No surprises. No bitterness.
Preparation
Just finished off the last of this tea this morning. I still really, really like it and it might go on the re-order list. Of course, I’m not ordering any tea until fall. Summer’s about to kick in here, so most of my tea drinking from this point will be iced. Of course, this one might be terrific iced.
I had this tea last night. Again, it didn’t taste like much, but it didn’t taste like soap either, so I’m happy. I ran into someone online who had a similar surgery to mine about 5 days before me. She is getting little bits of scents again now. So hopefully, by next weekend I’ll be able to smell a bit too. Can’t wait to taste all my delicious teas!
Yee-haw! No soapy taste!!
It didn’t taste like mint or even tea, really, but without that sickening swirl of soap it was very drinkable. I have hope that in a few days I’ll be able to actually taste Some Thing. Ah, Minted Monkey, you never disappoint. :)
So, in an effort to help keep my sinuses moist, I decided to have a cup of this tea. It’s not the flavor I want it for, but more the steam and opening of the nasal passages. Good thing I didn’t want the flavor, because it wasn’t good. The post surgery soapy taste is still present in everything I drink. Maybe slightly less today. It’s bound to get better eventually, right? At least this tea is steamy and soothing for my nose. If I just keep telling myself it’s NOT leftover dishwater, it’s bearable.
Soapy. Very soapy. Drinking dishwater would be more appealing. Yuck!
However, I am sure that taste will go away in a few days. Everything I eat or drink right now tastes off, probably due to the sinus surgery on Thursday. Surgery went well, and no splints or heavy packing had to be used. That means that I can breathe a little bit through my nose, and the pain isn’t nearly as intense. I go back to the ENT on Friday for a follow up and debridement. Hopefully once the crusty, bloody mucus is removed, I’ll start tasting properly again.
Thank you! I talked to someone in an online group for my condition and she said the same thing happened to her, only everything tasted a little like burnt plastic. Yuck! LOL She said hers went away in about 2 weeks.
So. I have precisely 27 more minutes to eat or drink before the surgery cutoff. I’m indulging in this tea. I was afraid after reading these reviews that I would find it too astringent or bitter to enjoy. I really try to avoid adding stuff to my tea since A.) I’m allergic to milk products and B) one of the reasons I’m drinking tea is to avoid the calories.
But no worries! I don’t find this tea bitter at all! It has a deeper flavor than some others, but that’s not a bad thing. Maybe smoky? Maybe earthy? I can’t really tell you, since I don’t really taste much. (surgery tomorrow might restore my sense of smell for a short time! Then I’ll be opening up tins and bags and sniffing like an addict!)_
Anyway, I have no complaints about this tea. I like the depth of it. In fact, I have time for another cup!
