Interesting and fun tea, I wouldn’t mind receiving it as a gift, but aside from 1 of the teas in the Spring sampler, I don’t see myself buying it again. It tastes a lot like the Blueberry-Lemonade flavor in the MIO brand, which that I’m fine with as each bottle is a few bucks and they can go a long way. This tea? Meh, no. I saw someone mention Lemon Myrtle, I still got some, so I’ll try it with that, but I doubt my attitude will improve.

I am not much experienced with green teas, let alone with Sencha so….not sure what rating I should give this tea.

Taste-I taste very little grape and alot of grass. I mean I know Sencha is supposed to be a little grassy, but blah! It’s barely drinkable and trying to convince myself to finish the cup instead of pitching it down the sink. I noticed 1 person mentioned that they should try steeping it at 2 min. and if I can talk myself into trying this again, I will try that. I will also try it iced, it tastes like it would be an ok iced tea, particularly if I put more sugar in it. Maybe add a little grape pop to take away the grassy taste. (Which at this time I am not really keen on, but still would like to try some fancy dancy sencha and other green teas just to say that I did.)

They should rename this Mango Tango. Seriously. I can’t really taste any pomegranates and disappointed about that. But other then that…I like this. Going back and forth about whether I would get this for iced tea days…I guess it depends on how long it sticks around. I put a bunch of sugar in it, but can barely taste it, not a problem though I was in the mood for tart. I guess that could be the pom, hmm? Maybe. This tea is a bit…dry. I think I’m going to have a sweeter tea after this. Next cup I’m going to have will be iced.

Usually I wouldn’t be having a black tea this late but planning on working on my writing tonight and need as much energy as I can get. And want to counteract the alcohol in the Mike’s Hard Peachade that I bought last week and need to drink up before my Dad gets back from his vacation. (He’s a long time recovering alcoholic and doesn’t like having alcohol and he worries about me drinking…despite the fact that I’m not crazy about most alcohol and I’m such a lightweight…a few hard ades or wine coolers or Smirnoffs a year and I’m good. Pretty unusual for me to even buy a box…but figured, what the hell? lol. Unfortunately the stuff kind of sucks. Oh well.

LOL. Since I knew the Spring Collection box was going to be delivered today, I ended up putting off of running my errands till after the mail comes in the afternoon. Just when I’m starting to think “Ok, I need to consider running at least 1-2 errands and then come back to the house, because this is taking to long.” so I make the decision to leave and of course the mail came. I couldn’t make myself leave until I opened the box, looked at the samples I received (Buddha’s Blend, which I’ve really wanted to try for a while. Genmaicha, I doubt I’ll like it more then Verdant’s Laoshan Genmaicha. But willing to give it a shot. And Glitter & Gold, which I have and liked at 1st but been having trouble finishing the bag.)

I opened the bags to have a sniff and decided it wasn’t to late in the afternoon to have some black tea and plus it said it was medium caffeine anyways…so I brewed some Cool Cucumber in a steeper cup, then poured it into my travel cup when it was done steeping. Tested it…meh. put more sugar in…tested it again, put more sugar in it….Ahh. Much better.

When it comes to mint in teas, I can really take it or leave it. I usually like it well enough to at least finish the cup, but usually don’t go out of my way to buy more especially if it tastes anything like Mint Medley from Bigelow’s which I still like even though it comes in a tea bag, I figure with that readily available, what’s the point in buying it online? But when the taste is distinctly different but tasty…like Teavana’s Watermelon Mint Chiller was one that really grew on me. Like a sneak attack.

After the 1st few sips, I thought “Ohh crap! I just might have to buy more of this for this summer.” I’m considering compiling a list of teas that I’d like to have around for iced tea on the weekends. During the week I’ll put up with the cheap crap and my flavored MIO stuff, and save the good stuff for the weekend so I don’t run out so quickly.

SMH. With planning a Verdant order soon (With hopefully Eight Treasures Yabao coming in.) half planning a Della Terra order (Because of Pineapple Upside Down Cake.) The order I just got from David’s Tea and the one I ordered this weekend from Butiki. Not to mention the almost week to week temptation of 52 Teas. (Which I’ve managed to successfully hold off because the majority of Frank’s Teas I’ve tried, I have not liked.

Anyways….if you like weird teas, this is definitely the one to try!

If I were to choose between this one and Dreamsicle Puerh, I would definitely pick this one. Beyond that though…..Meh. But I wonder if part of my dissatisfaction of this tea has to do with Della Terra’s Pineapple Upside Down Cake, in that alot of other teas would just pale in comparison? Hmm. Possibly.

Dry smell: Creamy orange to the forefront, with a I guess Darjeeling smell coming in the rear.
Tastewise it is just the opposite. I would prefer the Orange be just a touch more prominent, not to the extent of drowning out the Darjeeling, though I have limited experience with Darjeeling, what I’ve tasted for the most part I’ve liked. I think I will let it cool down, maybe add alittle more sugar, see if it would do well as a iced tea.

Ohh Myyy. I’m in trouble with this tea! I like reading the reviews as I drink the tea for the 1st time, or if I havn’t had it in a while.

When it comes to dessert teas I am just not that big of a fan, so when 1 comes along that I really like…I can’t help but say “Seriously?!” It makes me think that I need to make an order to Della Terra, which I hadn’t really planned on because I’ve tried a fair amount from DT and there just was not many that I felt I liked enough to buy, not to mention the fact that I decided to use my Birthday $$ at David’s Tea and Butiki, along with a possible order to Verdant if Eight Treasures Yabao comes back in. (Yes I know there is a winter blend, but I’d rather hold out for the Spring…I hope they bring it back!

So, might end up making an order for Della Terra though am going to try and hold off for a few months, like till May or June, depending on when I move. And despite the fact that I really liked this, I’m mostlikely going to stick to samples as I could see myself getting tired of it fairly quick. But…I might talk myself into getting a 2 ou. LOL.

Also, tried a 2nd steep, it was tasty but less so then the 1st. Definitely not inspiring. But then…I am not an resteeper expert, I love the concept, but generally if I have more then 1 cup I prefer them to be different teas though I could see myself getting more into it with (Hopefully!) a partner that loves tea as much or more then I do, be a lovely sunday activity.

I am a sadkitty :( This is the 1st tea that I’ve tried from Verdant that I have not liked. I mean it’s a drinkable cup, but not terribly inspiring. I just tried a 2nd steep and it came out tasteless. I am sure that I’ve prepared this wrong, though. Pu’er is still a tea that is a very complex topic, and it maybe years if ever that I get it.

I suspect the reason why I generally prefer flavored teas is that I have trouble tasting subtleties in stuff, not just tea but in meats like steak. Generally speaking I could not tell you one type of steak from another without a label. Now with steak…that doesn’t bother me. When I eventually move into my own place, I doubt I’ll ever really eat steak unless I am visiting my Dad and step Mom or my Mom, because all of them love steak.

But with tea, I want to be able to enjoy subtle flavors, though not to the extent where I don’t like drinking flavored. It is possible that over time my palate will develop which would make it possible to fully enjoy this tea and others.

Not going to score this because I don’t think it would be fair just because I am inexperienced in Pu’er tea.

This is supposed to be a Parisian version of EG, huh? Truthfully I can’t tell the different between this and a regular EG. It’s not a bad cup, but also not one I’d be inclined to get from Della Terra, unless if it were thrown in as a free sample…though not sure if they do that kind of thing.

Just last night, I was thinking **How many teas from Della Terra that I liked enough to want to get? And the only 1 I could think of was ‘Wonders of Kashmir’ which I’ll have to have again soon. I mean Strawberry Sundae was good, but it tasted pretty much like Strawberry chocolate from Republic of Tea, while I don’t mind the idea of keeping a chocolate tea around, I havn’t gotten much interested in them. I really would love to try though: a dark chocolate tea with orange flavor. Those chocolate balls that you see around Christmas time that you smash….oh yeah dark chocolate. Not that I don’t like milk chocolate but it tends to be to sweet and can’t really deal with that much anymore :( Unless if it’s European, like Belgian chocolates….OMG, I remember when I was working at Big Lots (Worked there for almost 10 years.) We had gotten these Belgian chocolates in the shape of I think groundhogs…they were so cute. But when I tried it……Oh my my my! Rich, velvety, sweet but not obnoxiously so. Had just the right amount of ….something else to mellow it out.

Anyways…as this tea cools I’m liking it even less. It’s gotten a bit bitter. Yeesh. You know even when I don’t think I want to buy it, rarely do I not enjoy a cup of EG. Please tell me that doesn’t mean I’m going to stop liking EG’s! I would cry!

LOL. Amusing. The one tea that I expected to like the least, is the one that I like the most. At least so far.
Dry smell: For some reason everytime I smell this dry…it turns me off. I almost didn’t get it at the store, but I knew I would kick myself if I didn’t. Almost always in that if you don’t like the smell your not going to like the taste, but this tea reminds me that is not always true.
It smells super sweet but there is this weird after smell that is kind of rank.

Taste: Heavy sweet, but not overly sweet. After taste is kind of citrus-y. I’ll have to remember to have this at Easter, because with this I’ll be able to curb myself from eating to much Easter candy.

This would also be the perfect tea in a little girls tea party. Oh drat…that just made me think of the miniature tea set that I’ve been mooning over at a local shop. Giggles

I suspect this will taste nice cold.

Smell wise: Dry it smells a lot like Grape flavored Nerds. Wet, not so much artificial tasting alittle bit more like grape juice.

Taste: a hint of grape closely followed up by what I’m assuming is the Oolong because it tastes a lot like the other Oolongs I’ve had. This will probably make a good iced tea though I am not impressed by it. Not going to buy this one again.
