This tastes like a wonderful creamy pumpkin pie! More pie than chai.

drank Hawaii-Grown Black by Samovar

Best tea ever! But why does it have to $25 for 25 grams? I could drink this every day! It is naturally sweet w/a starchy background. Oddly I detect a subtle sugar cane (like the kind that you chew and suck the sugar out of….) – yes that is what is tastes like- the starchy flavor of sugar cane.

Been trying shorter steep times: 30 sec, 1 min, 1,5 mins. – 2 tbs, 16 ozs. So far, flavor is strong.

Ricky

Sounds like I’ll have to try this next time I go to Samovar.

drank Coffee Pu'erh by DAVIDsTEA
328 tasting notes

Do NOT steep for more than 2 minutes. Like the other reviewers said, this one is best steeped for a shorter time. Otherwise, that pu’erh flavor is “too much”. But w/a brief steeping, this approximates a coffee flavor and the pu’erh adds an extra dimension of flavor.

wonderfully roasty, full of flavor, impossible to oversteep or understeep , tastes different each time. Has become one of my favorite am teas.

drank Whiskey sour by 52teas

True genius. Often blends just mask /ignore the tea base. This one accents the inherent malty flavor of the high quality yunnan w/the malty flavor of the whisky. So, this blend ends up tasting like an intense golden yunnan w/a hint, just a hint of cherry. Very good and highly recommended if you like yunnans.

Strangely, this doesn’t show up when you search for it, but the tea IS on Steepster here: http://steepster.com/teas/52teas/15994-golden-yunnan-whiskey-sour

Thanks for your review. I’m so glad you are enjoying it.

re: not showing up in search – that’s happening a lot lately…

Lori

I know! The search for this one was impossible…

You should post this tasting note where everyone else did for this tea:

drank Butter Pecan Black Tea by 52teas

Very mild tasting tea. Well so is butter pecan ice cream. The vanilla is very subtle. Pecan flavor is not bitter. W/sugar and milk., just some comforting goodness.

drank Love Tea #7 by DAVIDsTEA

Whoa! This is a strong tea. Not really a rose flavor. But an odd, intense sweet strawberry liquer flavor- sort of like a strawberry schnapps (if that exists) w/a hint of chocolate. I need to try this one more time before I rate it. I am not even sure if I like it.

Michelle Butler Hallett

I drink this one with a packet of stevia, and I find it at once more mellow and more complex when sweetened.

Lori

OK- I will try this one again w/some sweetener…

This has a wonderful buttery and sweet flavor. Not exactly coconutty- but a creamy buttery flavor. This is a delight!

This tea tastes like a mix of concord grapes or punch. Naturally sweet, w/again the high quality oolong in the background. Light and refreshing and summery.

Just a few months ago the only tea I drank was hot lipton tea at work, an occasional mint tea, and sweet iced tea.. Then my daughter got me some loose leaf teas for Christmas and then, my tea addiction began…..

And what better way to get lots of dessert flavors w/o the calories?

I prefer my tea with a tinge of sugar. Is that cheating? But to me , the combination of sugar and tea is like salt and cooking- both bring out the natural flavors.

My tea drinking has evolved into a set routine: a breakfast blend in the AM, some flavored blacks during the day, late afternoon or evening flavored green/white, herbal (usually spicy, chai inspired) at night.

Not into unflavored greens/whites yet. Just started appreciating unflavored blacks and am thinking that smoky teas may become my favorite…
When I am not drinking tea, I am working as an engineer, reading, watching some of the better TV shows (like Damages and Breaking Bad), practicing my yoga, cooking, gardening, and spoiling my two miniature poodles (Coco and Timmy)…
