This is hands down one of my favourite teas ever. I find it a perfect balance of green tea and nutty flavours. I prefer to drink it on a cool day, bundled up on the couch with a blanket. Definitely one that will be part of my permanent collection.

This is standard tea in my cupboard. I have it for those times when I just want tea, nothing special or fancy. I tend to have it with a hint of soymilk and raw cane sugar.
The tea is nothing particularly special. I find it lacks a little something…sort of empty or hollow tasting. It isn’t particularly full bodied, but it serves its purpose. I think its great to have on hand for those people who expect bagged orange pekoe (I don’t think we have any bagged tea anymore….).
I always refill the tin when it’s empty, but I don’t think I’ve ever craved this tea in an overwhelming way.

Whoa… it’s like you read my mind and wrote a review for me! This is EXACTLY how I feel about this tea, it’s alright, but not spectacular. And I too have never really craved this tea…

This wasn’t a tea I had chosen for myself, but a gift from tea-clueless dad. I had asked for tea tins, and he bought me tea in tins from David’s Tea.
When I remembered that I had it this morning, I decided that this was the tea for me. I made a pot to share with my partner, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I wasn’t expecting to like it, but I find the taste to be quite nice. It isn’t too overwhelming in taste, but not subtle either. Sort of middle of the road.
It was a very general ‘berry’ taste that I quite like. I’m not sure this is a tea I would drink multiple times a week, but it is one I would likely purchase when I’m finished what I have.

Monk’s Blend is probably one of my favourite black teas of all time. I picked this one up because I had a real craving, but hadn’t had any in a couple of years.
Honestly, at first the scent in the bag put me off just a little. Something I can’t quite put my finger on, but which concerned me. Thankfully, once it was brewed my concerns were completely alleviated. This tea is absolutely delicious, and the flavours work together perfectly. I find it has a good astringency. I rarely drink this with any milk or sweetener.

I picked up this tea because I was looking for a fruity green tea, something which would taste delicious both hot and iced. I chose this one because I felt like the scent packed a lot of punch, sweet but a bit tart. Absolutely delicious to smell.

I first drank hot, as my morning tea. Once brewed, I found the taste to be less intense then the scent, which I think is a good thing, otherwise it may have been too overwhelming. The tea is not nearly as sweet as it smells. Instead, my cup had a very nice slightly bitter taste that was tempered with the sweetness and flavour of pomegranate.

Overall I really really enjoyed this tea. I am not a huge fan of overly fruity teas, I like the fruit to be a bit more subtle, and this one fits the bill perfectly.

I was really excited about this tea, because I was looking for a chocolatey black tea, but I wasn’t interested in David’s Read My Lips, because I have Mint Chocolate Rooibos in my cupboard for when I’m in the mood for mint chocolate.

For me, this tea smells absolutely AMAZING, but I was slightly disappointed in the cup. It wasn’t nearly enough chocolate taste for me, in fact I didn’t taste any. I also found it slightly more bitter at the end for my liking, although I may just need to lessen the steep time slightly.

I will re evaluate after my second cup and update.

I brewed a second cup of this tea today. I feel like I got a bit more chocolate in this cup, and the strawberry came through a bit more as well. I also steeped for slightly less time, about 3:45, and had no bitterness.

I noticed that the smell changes as a I shake the leaf, at times the rose is more prominent and at times the strawberry is more prominent. This seems consistent with the taste between the two cups as well, as the first was more distinctly rosey and the second more strawberry. Overall, I still wish that there was more of a hint of chocolate, however I do not dislike the tea. I think that it’s nice for times when I’m craving a bit of sweetness in my black tea.

This was one of my first teas from Davids Tea, and I have to say I am absolutely in love with it. I agree with many others that the almond taste is faint. Instead, I think of this as a warm apple crumble or other apple-y baked good inspired blend. I find I tend to like it steeped at the higher end, and Ive been known to let it continue to steep while I drink it in my travel mug.
It is my go to tea for non caffeinated days.
