My favorite black tea. Sweet, spicy, smooth, lovely.

That’s a pretty strong endorsement. I’m a yunnan gold fan and so this peaks my interest. I’ve had a fair number of golden yunnans from various places and some are good, some not, and a few really good. Emporer’s Gold from Tao of Tea is my favorite by far. I’m wondering how it compares with this one. Have you compared this one with other sources?

Lainie Petersen

I have tried some other sources, Ineeka’s is really good, as is Narien’s. Both are different enough from this one such that I have a hard time saying one is “better”. I will say that I prefer this Yunnan Gold, though!

Teaman

Chicagoland sure has sources I’ve not heard of. May have to check them out sometime. Thanks for the recommends!

Nice, Lainie. I have a tiny sample of Yunnan from Teas Etc. that I haven’t tried yet. I’ll look for the qualities you mention.

Not too heavily roasted. Slightly fruity.

Sometimes Darjeeling astringency is like paint thinner in your mouth. Other times it is like little twinkling stars. This tea is in the later category.
