Definitely best iced IMO. And sweetened. Unless you are a big fan of that grapefruit pucker, then it should be perfect as is. I can’t say I taste any green tea, it’s really mild, either that or the fruit is just steam-rolling it. lol. It is quite refreshing though!

You know how some websites just suck you in? Like, you’ll sit down and think “I’ll just peruse for a few minutes and then get back to the adult things I need to do.” Soon before you know it, it’s almost 2am and you wonder what your adult life has become. Is this what my 20’s are supposed to look like?

Oh well, at least I have my tea to get me through! This evening my pot of tea was not a fandom blend! I realized I had been drinking a lot of those lately and decided to go with one that was not a blend. I made 16oz of this, and had most of that pot hot, and the last little cup was cold from sitting. It was pretty darn good cold so that’s how I had the re-steep pot. With sugar. What can I say? The husband and his sweet-tea tendencies have been influencing me a lot lately. I really enjoyed it this time around. I do have another unopened sample pouch to decide whether or not this will be a re-stock.

I cold brewed this one for hmmm…. a couple days?? I kept saying, oh man, I need to strain those leaves. Ahh, I’ll do it in a little bit. Yeeeeeah, that didn’t happen. Regardless, this is an awesome iced tea, sweetened of course. The almond plays in to it rather nicely. I can’t remember if this is a sipdown or not. If not there’s only enough left for one mug I believe.

So delicious with a bit of sugar. I wanted something sweet but I also didn’t want to actually grab a snack (although we do still have some wedding cake left!) Perhaps I should have grabbed more of a “wind-down” type tea, but desserty sweetness just called to me and I couldn’t resist.

I should have just made up a whole pot of this and made it a sipdown, but I wasn’t thinking and only made the one cup. Oh well. I feel like the smell of this one is deceiving. It has a really heavy smoky smell to it, however the taste is very smooth with the cherry and vanilla. Then again, Irene is a character with many facets as well and I believe the blend certainly suits her. Will she regard you with leather or lace? The best way to find out is just to dive right in…

I was about to go to bed, when I realized that in all the time I’ve been sitting here on my laptop that I haven’t gotten any of the things done that I had wanted to tonight.
Did I check my e-mail? No.
Did I start my fafsa? No.
Did I read any of my book? No.
Did I look at eyeglass frames? No.

What I did do was paint my nails (then smudge them while doing dishes) take pictures of my cat for instagram, and watch Star Trek. oops. Oh well. I had hoped to at least peruse some different frame shapes and figure out which ones I gravitate towards. The last pair I had were rectangular, and on the skinnier side. I liked the shape, but I think they were a bit too skinny. I guess I’m just worried about liking a pair that seems too “hipster” and end up getting dirty looks for being a ‘fake nerd girl.’ grrrrrrr. Why does this have to be so difficult? Wish me luck.

Anywho, I made up a teapot of this lovely Molly blend. It’s making me sooooo sleeeeeepy. While I do wish I could taste more cherry in this, the chamomile is comforting. I also love the pink color of this, it’s so cute in my little teacup :)

I finally caved and decided to try the “8oz water, 8oz milk, 1 tbs herbal” mix that has been suggested here. I mixed both the milk and water in a little pot on the stove, and brought it just below a boil. I added in the tablespoon of herbal mix, and let it steep on low for ten minutes, stirring. Pretty darn good if you ask me! The milk amps up the creaminess, and tones down the spice. I think next time I will try brewing this the way I normally do, and add just a splash of milk to my mug.

Again Cinna is here to make me feel better. Today was kind of an off day. I just wanted to sit in my blanket burrito all day because it is SO DARN COLD! I love this one with a bit of sugar. mmmmm.

On another note, ya know how when you bite the inside of your lip how it gets all swollen and annoying? Then because it’s swollen you keep biting it by accident in a vicious cycle of agony? Yeeeah. NOT fun. I just want the swelling to go away waaah :’(

I’ve gotten to the point where I realize I have to up my rating on this tea. While it hasn’t reached “tea-stash-must-have” status yet, as I was measuring this out for a pot I had a mini-panic as I’m getting low on this one. The thing that reels me in is the back of the sip, and the aftertaste. This herbal has a lingering sweetness that just pulls me in. Yes there’s some heat to it, but normally not too much. I do manage to get a second steeping out of this as well (I normally only brew 2 cups at a time so I actually remember to re-steep) For me, it also has a lovely welcoming aroma.

I definitely need to experiment blending with this one, as well as brewing it up different ways. (latte anyone?)

Revisiting this tea after a long hiatus… because I guess, being in the Sherlock fandom, that’s our division. I remember this being smokey and very manly. What I don’t remember is how strongly this tea smells of leather. So much so that all I can think of when I drink this is tacking up my ol’ quarter horse when I was a tween to go trail riding. If you had blindfolded me and then had me smell this cup, I would have told you it was recently used tack. Heavy and western.

After that I think it reminds me more of when Rupert Graves played Riddell in the “Dinosaurs on a Spaceship” episode of Doctor Who. Either way, it’s perfect as a character inspired brew, so mad props for that. I won’t be terribly sad when this goes though.

My partner and flatmate both love this tea! They can’t get behind ANY of my other teas, but this one they love. How can you love drinking leather?! I guess it’s just their division…

Hello.Kiki

Yeah it’s not my fav. The sampler set is fun though because of all the different teas, and to see/taste/smell how a fan translates characters into tea :)

Nattie

Yeah I do think the sampler is a good idea, and I think Cara’s done amazingly well with matching the teas to the characters – unfortunately, I never really watched Sherlock and thought ‘I bet Lestrade tastes amazing. I wish I could drink him…’ Haha

About Me: newlywed! I studied biomedical sciences and will start up medical school here soon. I love to read, paint, sketch, bake, crochet, knit, and lounge around with my Samoyed (Kenai) and two cats (Callie and Maya.) Fandom nerd and Disney girl.

About me and tea: I think I will always and forever consider myself a tea newbie.

I love learning new things about tea, and continue to branch out and try new tea as much as I can. For the most part my favorites seem to be dessert teas. Sweet tooth anyone? lol. I’d love to hear about other people’s favorites, and where you go for tea! My local choices are pretty limited, i.e. Teavana, so bring on the online shopping ;)

Rating System: I’ll try to stick to it ;P

95-100: Must have! Permanently part of my stash, and will re-stock before I’m out.
85-95: Love it! Wouldn’t hesitate to buy again
75-85: Like it! I’ll enjoy drinking what I have, I might get this again if the craving hits me
55-75: I’ll enjoy drinking what I have, but probably won’t get this again
35-55: Hmm, Not bad, not great. I guess I’ll finish this cup… might try another depending
1-35: eee… I’ll be dumping this cup.
