Not thrilled with this one today. I was in the mood for something sweeter (then again, when am I not?) Still, only getting subtle coconut from this tea through the oolong. I didn’t feel right adding anything to this to sweeten it. I did go ahead and try a second steeping, but got almost no coconut.

drank Love Tea #7 by DAVIDsTEA

Tonight I have been doing a major taste-all of my “sweet indulgence” sampler from David’s tea. It’s also chick flick night. So after I put in Casanova (you know the one, with Heath Ledger? mmmm) I decided what better to try than Love Tea #7?

Well darn it, I don’t like this one. It’s not undrinkable, I hope you don’t misunderstand. My affinity for floral teas just isn’t there, and I think that’s what ruins it for me. The first thing I taste is the rose. For me that overpowers the nice balance between the chocolate and strawberry.

*le sigh

I love a fruity tea, and this one does not disappoint! It has been a good accompaniment to my cold bacon (leftovers from BLTs earlier) and English muffin, complete with butter and blackberry jam. Hopefully I don’t cry into my cup while I watch Pride & Prejudice for the umpteenth time…
What’s really enjoyable about this tea is that it has this freshly burst berry appeal to it. Sweet not tart, as some blueberries can be. Another tea I’ve felt needs no additions. I may try this one iced, however I feel like it wouldn’t really make it to the fridge ;)

This was a good brew. The sparkle was fun. I enjoyed the slight spice and bit of orange (which I got more in fragrance versus actual taste.) My experience with black tea is limited, but from what I’ve tried this one seems more mellow than others I’ve had. Not something I would run out and buy, but if someone said “hey, would you like me to make a cup of this for you?” I wouldn’t say no ;)

I’m definitely drawn to these roasty-toasty mates! The chocolate seems nice and dark, and I love the raspberry. I will happily drink the rest of my sample to decide whether or not this is going on the re-stock list. If I’m being honest though, I’ll definitely repurchase this because I found I did not have to sweeten it at all. Other mates I have tried have that really great roasted taste to them, however they remind me too a bit too much of coffee which I always take with cream and sugar.

This one was delightful.

I’ve finally figured out what this one reminds me of! It makes me think of apple fritters. So, in a word, delicious. I still prefer chocolatey teas, however I’m glad I picked this one up. It’s also one of the few teas the hubster will drink hot.

With the crazy weather we’re having today, I’m definitely curling up in not just a blanket burrito, but a double down comforter burrito! Our house is SO COLD! It’s an old farmhouse, and not everything fits together right, lol. However this means that when the wind blows as hard as it is today, the front door makes a whistling sound reminiscent of a kazoo. ALL. DAY. LONG. Ahh, the joys of renting.

I’ve asked my husband to try teas and gotten similar responses. “It tastes good.” “……”

I love mint. I love chocolate. I love dessert teas. Combine them together? Heaven. I love this tea! Normally I sweeten my black teas, but this has enough sweetness on it’s own. Definitely going to try this one with milk.

ETA: The third infusion was all dark chocolate and no mint. Still a delicious cuppa though!

Drinking a big mason jar of this iced right now. It’s definitely good and quite refreshing. While it has the kool-aid smell, it does not have that over the top artificial taste. I can still taste the green tea through this. They strike a nice balance together. Grape is not my favorite though, so I’m not itching to put in an order for this.

I enjoyed this one more than I did last time. Over time, I think I’ve come to appreciate the floral notes in this a bit more than in the past.
And now I’m finally caught up again in my tea log! Yay!

About Me: newlywed! I studied biomedical sciences and will start up medical school here soon. I love to read, paint, sketch, bake, crochet, knit, and lounge around with my Samoyed (Kenai) and two cats (Callie and Maya.) Fandom nerd and Disney girl.

About me and tea: I think I will always and forever consider myself a tea newbie.

I love learning new things about tea, and continue to branch out and try new tea as much as I can. For the most part my favorites seem to be dessert teas. Sweet tooth anyone? lol. I’d love to hear about other people’s favorites, and where you go for tea! My local choices are pretty limited, i.e. Teavana, so bring on the online shopping ;)

Rating System: I’ll try to stick to it ;P

95-100: Must have! Permanently part of my stash, and will re-stock before I’m out.
85-95: Love it! Wouldn’t hesitate to buy again

55-75: I’ll enjoy drinking what I have, but probably won’t get this again
35-55: Hmm, Not bad, not great. I guess I’ll finish this cup… might try another depending
