I almost reached for a different tea but I grabbed this one because I have a bunch from when it was on sale. I also figure that as soon as it starts warming up I will not be in the mood for this one for a loooong while. This one is either finicky, or my taste buds can’t make up their mind. It just seems really inconsistent. Sometimes this is really flavorful, other times it’s just meh.
Today was a good day, but not the best.

ETA: why in the world am I still up! It’s almost 4am and this girl really needs to get some shut eye!

2 tsp 8 OZ / 236 ML

i got nothing but cinnamon hearts from this one… maybe pumpkin pie spice… no brulee though. =0(

Hello.Kiki

hmm, it’s inconsistency continues! Sometimes I get a more pronounced chocolate flavor out of this one too. Whenever I brew it, it’s like a surprise, “What will it taste like today?!” lol

So my mom got me this gift set for my birthday, right, and it included a cute little glass tea pot, a glass infuser, two double wall teacups, and a bag of blooming teas. This was an incredibly sweet gesture. We live in different states and don’t communicate very often. The fact that she not only picked up on and remembered that I have a liking *cough obsession *cough with tea, but that she also went out of her way to do a whole gift set says a lot.
It’s been a couple months, and while I’ve wanted to try out the set I really didn’t want to test that tea O.o
She asked me today if I had tried it yet (and incidentally I was actually thinking about testing it out) and to send her a pic of the bloomed tea. The “tea making experience” is a lot of fun with this, and I would love to do this for a few friends- HOWEVER- not with this tea. Unless of course, you like tea that tastes like you accidentally steeped your paper napkin instead of your tea. blargh.

Bottom line? I love my little tea pot and will use it for other blooming teas once I muster up the courage to try some.

I made two teas to serve cold tonight for my movie night, this one and the blackberry mojito. I really like this one cold, and actually really enjoyed subsequent steepings. They were less in-your-face cherry.
Now that movie night is over, I am watching “Too Cute” with my Samoyed, and finishing up the leftover white-chocolate covered popcorn I made as take-away gifts for tonight :)

ETA: I’m drinking the first steeping right now (I steeped up all my tea, labeled them, and popped them in the fridge to have cold) and I don’t like it as much as the second. The first is more tart. hmm.

I had a girls night tonight (yay!) We had pizza for dinner, and chocolate fondue for dessert, all while watching Disney movies. So classy and romantic, I know ;p
I had made two different teas to serve cold, this and the sakura allure. I’m loving the mint in this, which I felt was missing the first time I had it. However the berry flavor was more muted. After a few sips I added some simple syrup to try and coax out some of that berry but no luck. The second steep had a more balanced flavor between the mint and the blackberry.

I am in love with the idea of this tea. Berry and mint? YUM! So if anyone has suggestions, feel free….

Classy, absolutely. Tazo, my black cat, and I watched The Aristocats yesterday. The meowing and barking held his attention!

Hello.Kiki

Aww, we love that movie!!! We ended up watching Tangled, and The Lion King :)

SIPDOWN! I’m pretty excited to be getting through some teas! It makes me feel like I am making progress. Where am I going, you ask? lol, not really sure. Down the rabbit hole to the mad hatter’s tea party to be forever consumed by my tea obsession I suppose.
On to the tea! This time I did brew it up double. I actually quite prefer the extra strong brewing of this tea. I had intended this to be for the fiance so I super sweetened it, but I was thirsty for something cold that was not orange juice… oh hey look! There’s that iced tea I made. haha. I never out right hated this tea, but I don’t really think I ever got to “wow, I should totally order a bag of this!” Anyway, another tea down!

I had this one again to help prepare me for an extra long day at work.

boss lady: do you think you can come in four hours early?
me: umm, I’d have to leave right now to make it on time
boss lady: yay! see you soon!
me: wait, what

The spice perks me up at least. I’d love to branch out try some more chai teas though.

Preparation
205 °F / 96 °C 3 min, 45 sec 2 tsp 12 OZ / 354 ML

Yikes! sorry about having to go in so early! but your note was funny :D

Hello.Kiki

The reason it sucked was because I had so little time to actually get ready! I do have a pretty fun job as far as retail goes though. I’m glad it gave you a smile!

Backlog from yesterday: I seem to only make this one as a cold brew. This time I passed it off on to my fiance who likes iced tea. He said he liked it, though I definitely didn’t sweeten it as much as he’s used to. I don’t have too much of this left, so I think I might just use up what I have for another iced brew.

ETA: I’m brewing up some double strength to pour over ice, which I rarely do. Normally I cold brew. Fingers crossed I didn’t screw it up.

I had enough for one more cup of this. Woot! First tea I’ve finished! lol. I liked this about as much as I liked this the first time. It’s good don’t get me wrong. I do like the vanilla flavor here. Just not enough to buy considering I have another vanilla rooibos that I have quite a bit of.

About Me: newlywed! I studied biomedical sciences and will start up medical school here soon. I love to read, paint, sketch, bake, crochet, knit, and lounge around with my Samoyed (Kenai) and two cats (Callie and Maya.) Fandom nerd and Disney girl.

About me and tea: I think I will always and forever consider myself a tea newbie.

I love learning new things about tea, and continue to branch out and try new tea as much as I can. For the most part my favorites seem to be dessert teas. Sweet tooth anyone? lol. I’d love to hear about other people’s favorites, and where you go for tea! My local choices are pretty limited, i.e. Teavana, so bring on the online shopping ;)

Rating System: I’ll try to stick to it ;P

95-100: Must have! Permanently part of my stash, and will re-stock before I’m out.
85-95: Love it! Wouldn’t hesitate to buy again
75-85: Like it! I’ll enjoy drinking what I have, I might get this again if the craving hits me
55-75: I’ll enjoy drinking what I have, but probably won’t get this again
35-55: Hmm, Not bad, not great. I guess I’ll finish this cup… might try another depending
1-35: eee… I’ll be dumping this cup.
