This tea smells very interesting – nothing like I would have assumed honeysuckle puerh would smell like. The dry leaf scent is kinda like molasses. The tea brews up very dark and tastes syrupy, fighting between wet forest notes of shou with the bright floral notes. The resulting taste is thick and a little sweet. I think it would be a good first step for someone who wants to know about puerh without really diving into it.

I finally opened a tuo of this. It’s a pretty good aged sheng. Brews up light and has a mix of notes that I identify as tobacco, mesquite smoke, sweetness, and a hint of fruit (like a plum flavor?). This holds up for a multitude of steeps and is a very smooth drinker. It’ll be good to age my other tuos and see how it progresses.

Flavors: Smoke, Sweet, Tobacco

I had this one sitting in the fridge so that I could steep it later again.. The cold leaves smelled like bacon to me. mmmm.. bacon..

This is a mighty fine shou. A nice dark amber color. The brew is nice and creamy with the sweetness of caramel. I could keep drinking more of this. I got at least 10 steeps out of it (I never remember to count).

Flavors: Caramel, Creamy

Toasty and roasty. This tea is nice and light with tastes of grain, sesame, and a touch of sweetness. The roasted quality comes through nicely without being overpowering.

See, I liked a black tea! This is nice and creamy with a hint of honey and sweet potato. Maybe a little cocoa, but not too much that I found it off-putting.

Alas, another black tea that I didn’t really enjoy. I think my tastebuds are changing and rejecting all the black teas :P

Marzipan

Does not compute!

I think some of it is the weather! I crave black tea in the fall, but find it kinda nasty in warmer weather.

Stephanie

Damn, this one is the best, Kiebs!

Blasphemy! :P

Earl Grey for vampires? It sparkles.

Anyway, this is really delicious. The scent is much stronger than the brew. Normally, earl grey has a.. uh.. note at the end that’s kinda bitter-y, but not really.. I don’t know how to describe it!
Anyway, this doesn’t. This is as smooth as Ray J in some shades. This is a nice, creamy earl grey-inspired blend that just.. mm.. I could have it every morning.

This was a nice green, but it tastes like cinnamon for some reason! Like an atomic fireball cinnamon lol. Still, I liked it :P

A very nice light Chinese green with some light nutty notes. Definitely one to try again.

Learning more about tea every day.

Likes: Greens, whites, oolongs, blacks, and herbals! Just depends on the mood :)
Dislikes: Coconut, melon, chocolate, peach, cherry

I also collect antique teaware (Chinese and Japanese).

I’d love to try new types, varieties, etc. I’m still exploring pu-erh to make a complete decision whether to keep trying it or just count it as a loss.

I’d love to trade with anyone who likes something that I might have! I just have to get everything added to my cupboard first :)
