This tea gets really strong, really fast! It’s far too bracing if left to brew too long; I prefer this with a shorter brew time of 3 minutes or less. It’s nice with a touch of sugar. This was one of my mother’s favourite teas, and just the scent of it brings me back to wintery mornings in the kitchen, watching the deer outside in the backyard. I love this tea for that reason, though I rarely keep it on hand.

ETA: Upon visiting my parents for the holiday this November, I had a nostalgic cup of this again. The same as ever, excellent with just a little sugar.

This is the black tea I keep on hand for convenience, nostalgia, and personal enjoyment. I like the bergamot in this because it isn’t too floral, but it’s strong enough that I really notice it when drinking. I prefer this with a splash of milk. Lovely in the morning. Mother used to drink this.

This is my favourite tea, hands-down. I had never had any H&S tea before this one, and this tea made me decide to seek out more of their blends because I loved it so much. The richness of the coconut is perfectly balanced by bright ginger and lemongrass. This is wonderful cold, it’s wonderful hot, it’s wonderful with a splash of almond milk, it’s wonderful plain. I cannot go without having this tea in my cupboard.

The only H&S I’ve tried that I didn’t like. This was a bland oolong for me. No discernable fruit.

Husband loves this one, too. I serve it brewed with fresh mint added, and a twist of lemon. This comes out a rich red liquid, tangy with raspberry and delightfully refreshing. A summer favourite.

Iced 8 min or more

I keep a box of this at work for sipping during long, cold night shifts. It’s a grassy green with a smooth pineapple under flavour. It is delicious piping hot but I often don’t get to my cup until it’s at room temp, if drinking at work — and this brew is just as pleasant at room temperature, too! I’ve not tried it iced, but I am willing to bet it’s lovely.

Chinese Flower was one of the first blends by H&S I tried after I fell in love with their “Bangkok” tea. It’s a bright citrusy green tea with strong floral flavours. This one is pleasant at almost any time.

My love for this tea is ridiculous. It’s a rich, warm black for me, and the honey in it comes out deep. I love this with a little milk.
