553 Tasting Notes

Trying to finish this tea up so I cold brewed it. Tasty! Brown sugar pineapple delight. Yum. Should have cold brewed this one a long time ago. Hopefully when they come back, this tea will still be around.

I love discovering new teas. Hitting up Etsy in my spare time has been a lot of fun. But this tea, just isn’t for me. This tea has a weird smoked flavor. Like a smoked turkey flavor with a sweet twist. I really can’t explain it. The tea is aged in cranberry so I’m wondering if the aging process has added in a weird factor. This isn’t even a good weird. It just tastes off. I couldn’t even finish the cup. I dumped it and didn’t try it even cold. This was just a no for me.

Liquid Proust

Reading neon, I was hoping that either this would glow in the dark or had dried out bits of highlighter…

Nichole/CuppaGeek

Haha, That would have been cool! Glow in the dark tea!

Liquid Proust

I am going to assume that it wouldn’t be advised to buy a tea that is labeled as glow in the dark… based off of what I read, it would be under a blacklight that a liquid would glow and I am unsure of a time that I would be drinking tea near a blacklight.

Thank you again Shae! This is one of the best teas I have ever had cold brewed. Sweet, slightly floral, citrus twist, smooth black tea base. Very well balanced.

My mom filled her jar with this one last time we went to the market. I chose something different, but after one sip of hers I went back and bought a bag of the dried tea to take home. It is so good!

This one is my favorite of theirs so far!

2nd sample I had from my order from Amitea Organics. This one is perfect for the spring weather. Lemon herbal goodness with a honey twist. Super happy with this.

This is a interesting blend. This blend literally has 13 different ingredients. I was a bit scared when I was steeping this one. It smelled like a sweet spicy blend. First sip, I was hooked. This is really good. This tastes like a sweet cinnamon treat with hints of mint and other spices along the way. There is also an earthy quality. Really good. I really recommend this one.

I’m brewing more of this up for my trip to go see NKOTB today. Yep. NKOTB. My bestie and I saw them last year and it was a lot of fun. Vanilla Ice even came out to sing Ice Ice Baby. I’m hoping we have another surprise guest tonight.

Enjoy your day!

For the good, bad, and geek on this blend- check out my new blog-

I’m liking this one for a quick on the go kind of cup.
Toasted green with a hint of sweetness to it.
Simple and refreshing. What I wanted this morning.

Anybody have any recommendations on flavored genmaicha or a really good genmaicha?

Flavors: Roasted, Sweet

Ost

My fav genmaicha is the one from Verdant Tea. Also the ones that Den’s Tea has are quite good too.
Haven’t really liked any flavored genmaichas though yet.

I need more of this tea-STAT. I went thru this one really fast. This tastes just like raspberry jam when brewed hot and when I threw the leaves in a pitcher to cold brew, this tasted just like a cake with raspberry filling. So good. Highly recommend this one.

Karsten had this one today and said, “Meh” (direct quote), so I’ll put the rest of mine into your next box.

I brewed this up while watching Scooby Doo with the kid last night. He loves Scooby Doo and so do I. I accidentally let this one oversteep a bit but you couldn’t tell. This is great. When brewed hot, such a delicate subtle lightly flavored pear green tea. When brewed cold, you have some fab pear iced tea. Very versatile tea. Super happy with this.

I’m back and hopefully for good! After a bit of a hiatus, I want to get back in the habit of logging my tea journey for various reasons.

I never know how to start these things. I’m a 40ish tea loving gal who enjoys tea parties, horror movies and polka dots/plaid. I have an amazing supportive husband who has allowed our house to be over run by tea in more ways than one. We have four kiddos between us along with our two furbabies that we love as much as they drive us nuts. Our family truly is our world.

Now on to the tea: I love all kinds. I’m not a huge fan of red rooibos- truly is my arch enemy but I love green rooibos. Beyond that, I’ll try everything once or twice to make sure I didn’t bumble up the steepings. Recently got into puerh and enjoying the adventure. If you are interested in something from me, just holler at me. I’m always up for trying new tea blends or sharing with others!

I’ve also started blending up my own teas at http://www.cuppageekteas.com/ I try to make fun unique blends to brighten someones day with.

I am also the admin behind SororiTea Sisters. If you are interested in reviewing teas for us, let me know!. We are always looking for guest reviewers or contributors: http://sororiteasisters.com/.
