553 Tasting Notes
This blend is different. A smokey tea with fruity notes and coconut thrown in. It actually worked. But I do like a smokey blended tea. I had to get this one. I am Game of Thrones obsessed and Kat@Solstice has several more I need to try. She also has a mirage of fantasy based blends. Even some based on her own novels.
Anybody watch last night’s episode? I was freaked out by the White Walkers!
Flavors: Fruity, Smoke, Sweet
The boyfriend, one of his twins, and I shared a pot of this last night. He has declared this blend to be the best blend ever and warned me to never run out. I can’t say that I think this is the best blend ever but it was really good. Rich hazelnut with a sweet finish. I didn’t pick up the orange flavors but that is fine with me. I was perfectly happy with this delicious hazelnut delight.

I love herbal teas but I tend to shy away from the overly floral ones. This one, even tho there are huge rose petals in it, wasn’t overly floral tasting. There was an odd flavor I just couldn’t get my head around, but this one overall isn’t too bad. Can’t say I would reach for it again, but not a bad cuppa for the day.

Sweet Plum goodness. This one I really enjoyed. This is one of the first plum teas that I have thought actually taste like plum. A lot of them come off as artificial. This one didn’t to me. Fresh plum flavor is what I got. I know a lot of other people have reviewed this particular tea and thought it was very fake plum tasting. Maybe they revamped the blend. This one isn’t going to last long in my house. The twins are already asking me for more!
In other news Constantine is possibly heading into Season 2. I don’t know if anybody else loved this show like I did, but I am happy that this show has a glimmer of a hope since NBC cancelled it.
Flavors: Honey, Plum, Sweet
So this was a sample that was included in the last shared ordered I had with Marzipan & Liquid Proust. I should have included it in one of their boxes. This sounds delicious and I wanted to like it so bad. . .but my arch enemy struck again! So alas, this tea just wasn’t for me. Made me sad. I wanted a sprinkled birthday cake filled cup of love. Instead I got a funky weird woodsy taste cuppa that I could barely take a drink out of.

What’s your fave “cake” tea? I am a cake fanatic and am still searching for just the right one!
So far “Granny’s Cake” by RiverTea is the best cake tea I’ve had but unfortunately RiverTea has gone the way of the dinosaur it seems. :(
Off the top of my head-I did like Bluebird’s Vicki Sponge Cake cold brewed. That was raspberry jammy with vanilla cake on the side but that is it. I too am still searching for that perfect cake tea.
Being a huge fan of green tea, I was excited to dive into this one. I really liked it. Sweet green tea with hints of a more veggiel/earthy finish. And I got to break out my gaiwan. Too fun!

Yes! Last night’s episode was action packed!
Tre wouldn’t shut up about it :P He said it was one of the best episodes of the season.
It was! And one of the freakiest! Those last scenes were something else!

My husband just kept saying “wow” over and over again during the ending credits. That scene at the end was chilling, to say the least. This tea sounds like a lot of fun and some of her other blends look delicious too. I’ve got my eye on that Hobbit tea for sure!
